From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear reddish copper with an off white head. Malty nose. Flavors of light caramel and grassy hops. Mildly bitter but crisp finish.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a small tan head that dissipates pretty quickly with nice lacing. Aroma is strong roast, chocolate, ashtray. Flavor is the same, plus coffee. Light sweet, medium bitter with the bitterness lingering to the far finish. Medium body, nice silky oat influence mouthfeel. This is an interesting take on the style for sure.

Starts off good, but strange in that it’s better off at the outset than later on. Aroma of roast malt, a little booze. Slightly syrupy consistency. Some oat as well. Slightly bitter finish with some sweetness. Pours dark brown with no head or lacing. Decent. Bottle from Premier Gourmet.

McGillin's 1860 IPA from Stoudts Brewing Co.

On tap at McGillins this past weekend. Copper color with a smallish head. Malty toffee and caramel aroma with a sweet bready earthy taste. A bit light in the hop dept for an ipa. OK to drink but I wouldn’t grab one again.

From tap at City Tap House. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is dry estery, light fruity. Mild bubblegum flavoured, mellow yeasty and medium dry. Light bitter, lasting light bubblegum finish.

From tap at Ginger Man. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light grassy. Grassy, bitter, light herbal and dry. Lasting dry, herbal and grassy finish.

Cloudy, orange-yellow with a creamy, off white head. Aroma is tangerine....sweet orange. Tropical fruit-punch taste...malt.. Pineapple, orange, mangoe...peppery finish. Very subdued bitter and alcohol. NICE.

Clear gold with a short, white head. Scent is grain, malt. Taste is mild and grassy. Very smooth, simple. A nice tasting little beer.
