Description
In May 1867, the Leinenkugel family brewery was founded in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin by Jacob Leinenkugel. He was a family man driven by an iron work ethic, and he knew that his German family heritage would play an integral part of his brewery’s success. Today, the sixth generation of Leinenkugels continues to brew some of the same family-inspired recipes that Jacob poured his heart and soul into. Over the years, our family has grown and so has our brewery, but our history and heritage remain at the forefront.

Pint can from a Kwik Trip, 11/9/20. Clear amber-red, large frothy tan head, good retention. Aroma of toast, nuts, tinny hops. Taste is raisin, toast, grain, sweaty sock. Medium bodied, leans sweet but not off balance. Decent.

You know, I got a special place in my heart with leinie, right up there with saranac. These guys were the first to introduce me to the real varieties of beer, way back when. Got this bottle for a couple of bucks at chalet. It pours a darker clear brew. Nose is refreshingly dark, attractive and acceptable; almost makes my mouth water. Taste is quite nice as well, its rather friendly and civilized. A little toffee in there fer sure. Quite surprised about its ability to hide its alky content. Tastes pretty good for a bock beer but, I'm curious as to why the alky level is quite low for this style. Has just the right amount of flavor jolt to let you know its a bock, without insulting yer senses. Very good level of co2 sizzling for the palate, nice. Overall its simply a good example of how well a domestic beer company can come to terms with the real old style euro bocks of the old country. Another nice job lienie!

Can pour in bottle share--thanks T.J. so that I didn't have to buy myself. Appearance is extremely pale yellow with trace sparkle, thin ring of white head with no lacing. Aroma is mild raspberry and lemon but seems like is covering something bilious. Taste is weak raspberry. Mouthfeel is light bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation with dry, yeasty finish. Overall, maybe over ice this would be O.K. but it's not good.

Can. Aroma is fake raspberry. Not completely gross. Flavor has slight hand soap essence. Thin with mild fake berry. Almost palatable.

Can (6/8/20) pour in bottle share--thanks, T.J. so I didn't have to buy this myself. Appearance is extremely pale yellow with no sparkle, 1/2 finger width foamy white head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong strawberry and pineapple but seems like it's covering up something bilious. Taste is strawberry and pineapple but seems fake. Mouthfeel is light bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation, watery texture and finish as taste. Overall, don't bother. Fake. Thin. Not a good beer. Not a good spritzer. Avoid.
