Duft av røykt sild. Fin gyllen farge, tynt lagn skum. Smak av røykt sild med en litt sursøt bitter ettersmak som sitter. Ikke min favoritt, men helt greit øl. Tap Melkebaren

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen
Dark color, almost black, with virtually no head. Aroma of dark malts, glue, caramel, phenols. Flavor of caramel with some darker malts, a lot of chemicals, phenol, booze, enough residual sugars; some chocolate flavor, and quite sweet overall; it has a correct (or strong?) bitterness and some alcohol in the final. Unrefined and inelegant cowboy brew.
It could score high because of its strength and bold statements, or low because of its chaotic way.

Split a 16oz can with some friends. Poured a medium-dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma was some roasted malt, sweet caramel character, maple and a touch of meaty smoke. Flavor was maple, some light candy, and smokey bacon character. I was hoping for a bit more bacon notes in this.

Tap at University of Beer in Davis, CA. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma seems chocolate. Med body or better. Flavor is oaky chocolate. Hop? Maybe. It’s way towards dry. It’s astringent. Could be oak. Seems to get coffee in the finish. The flavors are delivery in a quite striking manner. Very tasty.

Keg at Fermentoren, 02/03/14. Light black with a moderate tan covering that retains well. Nose is lightly charred wood, sherry soaked oak, dark stoned fruits, earthy cocoa. Taste comprises toffee fudge, oaky notes, brown sugars, tangy stoned fruit, dates, cocoa powder. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet notes in the close. Decent stuff, good all round balance.
