330mL bottle, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma has some bready malts, stale toffee, and some brown sugar. Flavour is better, with sweet bready malt, caramel, brown sugar, and toffee. Actually pretty reasonably done, with a nice gentle malt presence for a barley wine. Decent.

On tap at Bruder, pours almost black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out cocoa powder upfront, with a pretty light malt base. Flavour is fairly subdued for an impie, with dark cocoa and a gentle malt base. As with the imperial, very light—surprisingly for the ABV. Okay.

On tap at Bruder, pours an amber-tinged dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma has a more English-tinged malt character, with light cocoa, and some earthiness. Flavour is dry, with cocoa powder, earthy malt, and an English malt character. Light-bodied, especially for the ABV. It’s alright.

On tap at Bruder, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma doesn’t have much hop character—there’s just earthy malt. Flavour is more like a sweet fruity ale of some sort—not much hops, just some dull bready malt, very minimal bitterness, some fruitiness on the finish. Pretty lame.

On tap at Bruder, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is pretty weak, with biscuity malt, not much else, certainly no hops. Flavour is totally lifeless, with biscuity malt, no hops whatsoever, and just a generally stale, lifeless profile. Extremely lame, pointless beverage.

330ml (thx, Brian!) @ Matt's house. Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: coffee, some green peppers, some milk, a lot of grains, a little bit sweet. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: ok.
