Today the brewery proudly produces 9 Core Beers all year round and many seasonal/special ales which are sold to pubs and bottle outlets throughout the South East of England & East Anglia.
Wantsum Brewery was originally a 6 British barrel brewery that brewed 24 firkins a week. In 2012 it had grown to a 12 barrel brewery and the production has risen dramatically to 200 firkins a week. We use British barley and a variety of hops from around the world including, of course, the excellent hops from Kent.
Wantsum Brewery takes its name from the Wantsum Channel, the watercourse separating the Isle of Thanet and what was the mainland of the English county of Kent. During the time of King Henry VIII, this channel was the mooring place of the King’s Fleet. The brewery sits on what was one of the major tributaries to the Wantsum Channel.

Cask at The Star, Godalming..WTF was this added as an APa... anyway... Clear dull gold. Thinnest frothy foamy white head. Aroma has light malts and light citrus. Flavourwise it has citrus sourness with a malty base. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Pleasent.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours golden yellow with a small foamy almost white head and good lacing. The aroma has marmalade, floral hops and summer fruits. In the mouth it is sweet and malty with a creamy texture but also some underlying hops. Flavour has marmalade and citrus with hints of oats and spices. Finish is slightly dry. This is decent but I’m not sure if it should be regarded as a hoppy bitter or a wishy-washy IPA.

Isle Of Wight Holiday Beer#8. Still in Portsmouth on the way to the isle for this very tasty single hop brew. Passable hoppy-sweet nose but very flavoursome in taste.
