Description
Since hitting the beer world in 2008, Blue Monkey has gained a powerful reputation by winning more than a 100 national awards.

We brew more than a dozen different types of beer including: Pale Ales, Stouts, Dark Ruby Ales and Black IPAs. We have a wonderful range of luscious fruit gins, all based on our classic London Dry and also have a range of rums distilled from sugar cane sourced from the Caribbean.

Cask gravity at The Bell Inn, Ivychurch, Kent. Dark gold, some haze, lasting thin white head. Earthy hop aroma, bit young in mouth. Good beer though, drinkable. Good stinging finish.

Cask (handpump) @ Wellington, 37 Bennetts Hill, Birmingham, West Midlands England B2 5SN.Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark roasted, cold coffee, licorice notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate malt sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100116]

Cask@GBBF2010. Deep amber colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some earth and mild caramelly and bitter wooden notes as well. Flavour is quite much the same, but has surprisingly much fruity and nutty notes compared to the aroma.

From cask. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is nice fruity and roasted caramelish malt. Sweet malt, toffee and caramelish. Fruity. Crisp hoppy bitter with mild citrusy touch into a nice bitter and fruity finish with a persisting malt base.

Cask at GBBF ’10. Dark brown with no head. Strong coffee nose with chocolate and caramel notes. Malts, caramel and smoky flavours. Dry finish.

From cask. Pours dark brown to black with a fully gone head. Aroma is mild tarish and dark roasted malt. Dark malty, mild liqourice and with a nice bitterness coming through. Ends dry and bitter. Dark roasted malt finish.

From cask. Pours cloudy yellow with a fully gone head. Aroma is herbal and grassy. Sweet, citrusy and bitter. Mild grassy and crisp fruity. Ends dry.

Cask@Derby Beer Festival 2010. Muddy blackish brown beer with a fairly strong head. The aroma is roasted and mildly malty, and the flavour is gently bitter and roasted with a sweet and yeasty finish. Overall a reasonable yeasty and roasted beer.
