Dark brown with ruby hue, not too strong tan head. Aroma is Munich malt and roasted nut. Taste again Munich with some roasted nuttiness and a very bready finish. Medium body, creamy.

pale golden, white head with low retention. malty, herbal noble hoppy aroma. taste malty, grainy then herbal hoppiness with mild bitterness. Bitterish aftertaste. Light body. Considering this is a Russian brew, the hops were a pleasant surprise.

Draught, Ulan Ude. Hazy reddish-amber. Bubbly thin head. The aroma is caramelly with light bready notes. Toasty, caramelly...but also a bit sour. I don’t think that was intended.

Draught, Ulan Ude. Golden, sparkly with a nice head. Fat, tangy saaz aroma with rich doughy malts. Lots of saaz. Lots of bread. This is a fairly credible rendition of Czech beer. Good, balanced brew.

Thin head and bright amber-brown. Slightly molassesy aroma. Dark sugars on the palate with demerara-level richness, light caramel and toast. Light, quaffable body. Good brew.

Nice ruby-brown colour with a fairly large head. The aroma promises a beer with lots of dark sugar malts and good quality caramels. Soft and sweet, with nice caramels and a pleasing touch of roast in the finish. More complex than a typically Russian beer or a typical industrial dark lager.

Pale straw. No head - when did Zhigulyoskoye ever have a head? Light bready malt aroma. A touch of herbal-spicy hop character distinguishes this beer slightly. For its size, it has good body, backed by light bready malt sugars. As Russian pale lager goes, this is one of the better ones.

Bottled (PET) Golden colour, brief head. Sweet and light bodied with notes of vegetables. The finish contains some undefined spices and salt. Mainstream stuff.

Bottled (PET). Deep golden, small head. Fruity with plenty of dates. Sweet and generously malty with clean mouthfeel. Salty licorice dominate the finish.
