Description
Taybeh Brewing Company is a family owned business established in 1994 following the Oslo Peace Agreement (1993) when David Khoury and Nadim Khoury were inspired by their late father, Canaan David Khoury (1926-2002) to return to their home village of Taybeh after spending more than twenty years in the United States and establish the first micro brewery in the Middle East.
The goal was to invest and boost the local economy by introducing new styles of natural hand crafted micro-brewed beers according to the German Purity Law with no preservatives or additives making an excellent Palestinian beer while creating a nationalistic feeling. Nadim Khoury turned his hobby of making homemade beer during college days into a career becoming the master brewer. He is very proud to pass this passion and experience to his daughter, Madees Khoury, the only female brewer in Palestine.

Bottled, 75cl champagne-corked. (5.2%) Clear, golden beer with a small white head. Fruity, grainy and grassy aroma. The flavor is fruity as well, lightly malty, grassy and hayish. Medium body. The last time I sampled this beer it had a distinct cellar aroma and flavor, which made it a bit more interesting, but that was maybe a flaw? Anyhow, it’s very decent for a Mediterranian beer. There seems to be a german version of this beer as well, and I guess it is the one I sampled, as it was bought in Flensburg. (060812)

Sweet cornstrachy, vegetale, mainstream beer. Not overly offensive, but not much to it, but if you are drinking this beer, its unlikely it is for the taste..... countrywhores!

(Bottle 33 cl) German version brewed by Anker Brauerei in Nagold. Pale golden, slightly hazy with a light creamy head. Lovely aroma hops, that don’t add much bitterness. Quite a pleasant brew. 220401

Corked Bottle - cork slightly damaged Thin tinny aroma. Pale golden, no carbonation, diminutive gead. Metallic bitterhop and thin corny strawlike malt. Watery, slightly bitter finish. Another POS beer from our friends at haus der 131 Biere - not worth the premium price at all.
