Bottle (kindly delivered by Quack-Duck!): Deep, deep amber coloured, maybe a bit hazy, big tanned head that slowly collapses, light dryish caramelly nose, some fruits underneath; very light dry bitter flavour, very light bodied as well; thin fruity-ashy finish. A german beer, that is n o t available in Germany. Who knows why......

0.5 L bottle, at 1.50€. Golden beer with some particles. Big fluffy white head with good lacing. Some hop on the nose. Aroma of pilsener malts and lots of grassy hops leading to a spicy bitter finish. Medium body, low carbonation. Earthy, honest, simple and good.

(bottle) Slightly unclear, dark brown colour with a tall and tanned foamy white head. Roasty malty and leafy aroma with notes of caramel, sweet milk and hints of berries, showing an early infection. Slightly bitter flavour, almost watery body and slightly roasted malty palate with caramel and slightly burnt notes; moderately carbonated mouthfeel; slim roast-malty finish with subtle berry-fruity notes. Disappointing. 24.XI.11

a decent skunk hops taste that certainly went down better than the krom dark. i thought this one was alright for a lighter lager kind of beer. On tap in kleinburg, ON.

Not a huge fan of this one. i have yet to find a schwarzbier that i really like and this certainly wasnt it. tried the krom pils after and for once i preferred the lighter coloured beer. on tap at a festival in kleinburg, ON.

bottle from Tesco Honiton. Deep brown, almost black colour, enormous beige head - the foam is coming out of the bottle after opening. Aroma: very fruity, reminds me of a top-fermented Belgian dark beer. Flavours of roasetd malts anc dark chocolate, also lots of flavours of old, rotten fruit, with a shy sourness - signs of infection. Highly carbonated, is it really infected? How can a beer from such a huge brewery be infected, it must be dead already when bottled!? Best before 05/2012 - bottled 05/2011, so its only about 14 weeks old! What I can taste besides the fruit/old fruit, is ok, in fact quite nice, but signs of infection are everywhere, unfortunately.
