On tap at Mohawk Bend, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, particularly cherries, roasted malts, and some chocolate. Flavour is quite chocolatey and fruity, full of sweetened milk chocolate, cherries and other dark fruits, what a wonderful balance of flavours. Sweet but not cloying. Excellent stuff.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of thome50. Pours an opaque pitch black with a creamy, light brown head. Thick chocolate roast in the nose with loads of sweet Bourbon blending in. Solid body, sweet roast, lots of vanilla and overripe fruit again with sweet Bourbon. Quite some warming alcohol in the finish, but never really boozy. A nice example of a Bourbon barrel Imperial Stout. 301112

Pours an oily, opaque black with some thin, beige head. Big barrel aroma, coffee, caramel, cake icing, cognac, booze. Flavor is sweet, malty, sugary, caramel, chocolate, light coffee, some cherry. Full, sticky finish. Good but a bit too boozy.

Sample at Falling Rock Beer Tasting with Dr. Bill on 10/13/2012. Pours nearly black with some amber around the edges. Medium tan head that dissipates steadily and stringy lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, bourbon and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, vanilla and sweet malt. Slight chocolatey malt too. The finish is rich and malty with subtle bourbon in the aftertaste. Good beer all around.
