On nitro tap at Locality, pours black with a creamy beige head. Aroma is timid, with maybe a touch of fruitcake but little malt expression. Flavour is moderately sweet, with gentle fruitcake and some toasted malt. Extremely timid, with little depth, finishing moderately sweet. It’s alright I guess but a pretty haphazard effort to do something bold.

On tap at Locality, pours a cloudy pink with a small white head. Aroma has some soft wheaty notes undergirding the rhubarb and gentle red berry notes. Flavour is light and gentle, with rhubarb, red berry, and a soft wheaty base. Unobjectionable but uninteresting. Meh.

On tap at Locality, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some bergamot, a touch of melon, and soft wheaty notes. Flavour is sugary more than anything, tasting like lactose, a touch of bergamot, and straw. Too sweet, not enough depth. Poor.

On tap at Locality, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has some unfermented wort, biscuity malt, and a touch of earthy hops. Flavour has plenty of unfermented wort—not much hop expression, finishing lightly bitter. Something went wrong here—not long enough fermentation?

On tap at Locality, pours an opaque yellow with a small white head. Aroma has some gentle dankness, light hopburn, and stone fruit pith in rather jagged combination. Flavour is gritty, with an herbal hop character, some stone fruit pith, and gentle hopburn. Messy and poor hop expression but not terrible.

On tap at Locality, pours a clear dark red with a small beige head. Aroma has some artificial Nanaimo bar (I guess?), not much malt depth beneath. Flavour is lightly sweet, with barely any malt depth, some generic sweet artificial flavouring that I might be able to convince myself is essence of Nanaimo bar. Lifeless and pointless creation.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Tons of unfermented wort on the nose. Flavour is just wort. Did they forget to finish this? Christ.

On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Lots of sugary earl grey on the nose. Flavour is super sweet with some wisps of earl grey. This is way too sweet to be good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear ruddy brown with a white head. Some nuts and brown bread on the nose. Flavour has flacid brown malts, a bit nutty, excess sugars. Poor brown ale with no hint of nanaimo bar.

On tap at the brewery. Pours nearly black with a beige nitro head. Faint wisps of roasted malt on the nose. Flavour has very little roast, more like a generic dark malt character with excess sugars floating around. This is a pretty sloppy imperial stout.
