Description
Situated in Larbert, Tryst Brewery has been producing quality ales since 2003. John McGarva, owner and head brewer, is always focusing on adding new twists to traditional recipes to create unique takes on classic ales. All of our brews are made with Scottish malt from Mungoswells in East Lothian with additions from Bairds Malt to add depth of colour and flavour. To keep our beers evolving we use hops from all over the globe allowing for a broad range of tastes and aromas.

We are committed to doing our part for the environment at the brewery. Our used malt goes to some local farms for use in agriculture. We also use our spent hops for composting, which helps enrich our small garden, where we attempt to grow some classic British hop varieties such as Fuggle and Target.

Closed because of retirement.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Light haze on this gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, a little creamy sweetness. Decent peach - bright. Some floralness borders on soapy though, which is a distraction. Light dry finish. All right.

Cask at GBBF. It pours clear gold with a decent white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, mellow, peachy, apricot, tinned fruit, bread and brioche. The taste is dry, bitter, straw, zesty, pithy, toasty grain, orange peel, stone fruits and hint of peach, but not too much. Drying finish. Light - medium body and soft carbonation. Not bad.
