Draft at Bellwether. Dark but clear brown with a small bubbly head. Aroma is toasty malts, nutty, woody. Taste stays on target with more nutty Malts, woody, earthy. They nailed the style on this one.

Draft at brewery. Pale straw color, mild haze, thin skin of head. Light smoked malt aroma, not super burnt. Taste opens with a bit of sweet wheat, then switches over to the lightly smoked malts. Really nice. Would make a great gateway beer for full on rauchbiers.

On tap at Bellwether, pours an opaque bright orange amber with a small white head. Aroma is very oaky and herbal, with earthy spiciness, oak, and red fruits. Flavour is very oaky and complex, with wild yeast, oak barrels, red wine, and earthy spiciness. There's some bandaids and children's toys in here (dammit, Rachel, you Dave Shea'd me). Wow - this is intense and complex. Unusual array of spices and barrel elements really nail this. Awesome.

On tap at Bellwether, pours an opaque rusted red with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of wood upfront, followed by wild yeast and some rosemary. Flavour is very funky, with lots of wild yeast, oak barrels, and rosemary. Somehow this melding of elements works beautifully cohesively. Lovely.

On tap at Bellwether, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of floral honey upfront, accentuated with a touch of jasmine. Flavour is drier, with floral jasmine upfront, followed by fermented out honey and more floral notes. Really like the jasmine in here. The honey is nicely situated but I wouldn't mind more of it. Very nice.

On tap at Bellwether, pours a cloudy rusted red with a small white head. Aroma is... what the hell... lots of pizza tomato sauce and jalapeo. Flavour somehow works, with lots of tomato sauce, accentuated by ample jalapeo (without much spice), and fermented out honey. This shouldn't work, but it does. Fun and enjoyable beer.
