Description
Sig Brewing Company is a small family-owned brewpub located in Tacoma’s Historic Brewing District. Our goal was to differentiate ourselves in as many ways as possible including our beers, food, and taproom. We were fortunate enough to hire a talented head brewer in Jeff Stokes and opened our doors in the spring of 2020. We love craft beer and are very proud to be a part of its local community.

On tap at Sig, pours a cloudy bright peachy yellow with a small white head. Nose is very juicy, with perfumey hops, alcohol, and pulpy juiciness. Flavour is very juicy, with lots of pulpy citrus hops, bitter citrus rinds, and floral notes. Very bitter yet juicy, with not much chalk. Good.

On tap at Sig, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma smells like a birthday cake, with lots of sprinkles, cloyingly sweet chocolate, and icing sugar - damn. Flavour is very adjunct-heavy, with lots of icing sugar, burnt sugars, sprinkles, and roasted malt. It's cloyingly sweet but perhaps tempered just slightly by the harsh roast. I guess this achieved its target? Either way, this is definitely not for me.

On tap at Sig, pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma reveals quite a complex hop character, with lots of piney hops, some spiciness, and dry toasted caramel malt. Flavour is robust and assertive, with lots of pine cones, bitter pine hops, some nice hop spiciness, and crisp biscuity malt that has just enough sweetness. Assertively hopped yet balanced. This is excellent.

On tap at Sig, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small medium white head. Nose brings out crisp grassy notes and biscuity malt. Flavour is crisp and dry, with biscuity malt and hoppy bitterness. This doesn't have the spicy, grassy hop character that I'd want in the style. Dry but not crisp, just bitter. Not so great.

On tap at Sig, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is very juicy, full of both tamarind and kiwi, along with juicy stone fruit and light lacto. Flavour is very juicy, with lots of kiwi, juicy stone fruit and puckering tamarind. Gentle lacto character with only a touch of salt. Now this is a nice fruited gose that still has the gose left in tact. Very good.

On tap at The Beer Junction, pours black with a tiny head. Nose is indeed reminiscent of churros — lots of cinnamon, along with caramelized brown sugar and a touch of molasses. Flavour is like a liquid churro, with intense cinnamon, molasses, and caramelized brown sugar. It's sweet, but surprisingly not cloying. So much depth and somehow, the 13.5% is not coming across boozy. For a ridiculous imperial pastry stout, this is mighty tasty.

On tap at The Beer Junction, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is hearty, with fresh oats and subtle, dry dark cocoa. Flavour is dry and hearty, with fresh cut oats, a hint of dry cocoa, and crusty bread. Thin palate even for a low ABV stout, but it's clean and drinkable. Okay.
