Description
The beginning of Riverlands Brewing Company is a story that captures everything that we love about not only beer, but life. We started dreaming up this brewery at a Fourth of July BBQ on a beautiful sunny day surrounded by family, friends, and of course, great beer. Our brewery is owned and operated by family and close friends, and our beer is best enjoyed in the company of such. When you visit our taproom, you'll be included in that family feel of our brewery, and you'll enjoy some great beer too.

At Riverlands, we brew the beer that we love. We're inspired both by balance, and the lack thereof. We appreciate huge hop aroma and flavor of a New England Style IPA, thick flavored stouts, and tart sours equally with the delicate balance of a well constructed lager. You'll find all of that with us and everything in between. We pour ourselves into each batch we make, each glass we fill. You'll never find a beer from Riverlands that was not obsessed over from the time the recipe was constructed, to the moment it finds its way to your table.

We are located in St Charles, Illinois, just a couple miles from the Fox River. St Charles' motto is "The Pride of the Fox." We are truly part of this community, with several members of our team growing up and still residing here. We embrace the saying, "Brewed With Pride, Enjoy The Ride" in the same way. We are proud of every one of our beers and the work that went into them. We're proud of the hard work each of us put into our brewery. Mostly, we're proud to be part of the ever growing community that is craft beer, and we will always bring our unrelenting enthusiasm for what we do to all of you.

Cheers.

Aromas are cocos, black patent, dark malt. Flavors are similar to nose, add in cinnamon and sweet overall. Medium body and finish follows flavors. Alcohol is well hidden. Good but not great.

5 oz taster. Black beer with a thin tan ring around the edge. Nice strong alcohol on the nose, from Buffalo Trace barrels. Yet, the taste is thick and had a bourbon edge. Nice roasty malt edge that comes from a fresh Impy. Compares well to my first exposure to Bourbon County Stout. Nice and sticky on my lips.

Taster glass at Riverlands. Creamy Yellow haze with a thin ring of foam. Nose has lots of stone fruit puree, just a touch of pine. Taste offers a bit of pineapple and mandarin orange juice. Deceptively easy drinking. Leaves some pretty lace behind.

5 oz. taster. 4,200th RATE BEER REVIEW!Brownish-black, an eggshell ring of foam still on the edge. Smell of toasty malts and a bit of raspberry. Spoiled a bit on my hand, and it is VERY sticky. Sweet malt taste overrides the barrel impressions. But they do show up as I go along. A great finish to my taster tray. Sips more like a bourbon that the Hawkins BA Stout. Hate to not give or a full 5.0, but I've got to act like I'm more critical than I really am

5 oz taster at Riverlands. More of an apricot juice color than the Three Waves. Still a thin ring of foam spend the glass. A bit of apricot nose which I assume is all from the hops. Done fruit taste, too, but more hop bitterness. Not a big hop snack, but still nice.

Tap at Riverlands. Nice Pils, a touch drier would be appropriate though. Doughy, pleasant malts. Mellow carbonation. Easy drinking, good stuff. Riverlands lager game is real.

Tap at Riverlands. Nice mug pour. Transparent copper orange body. Creamy white head. Zesty and herbal, not unlike Italian Pils. A lot of character for the style. Big saaz. Good.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Murky yellow gold color. Large, tight, pillowy white head. Great lacing. Fragrant fruit aroma leans toward white grapes, lemon and grapefruit. Sweet, bready malt flavor has notes of passion fruit, pineapple and pine. Sticky and sweet from its head down to its feet. Nicely done.
