Description
The Lumberbeard Brewing story isn’t a complicated one. It is much like the way we like our beers: simple, straightforward, yet full of creative adventure.

Bret, our president and head brewer, fell in love with beer and the craft of brewing at the appropriate age of 21. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in economics, he pursued a sensible job in the finance world. It didn’t take long for him to realize that being at a desk was not for him and he wanted to become a professional brewer. That passion led him and his family to California where he went back to school to earn a Professional Brewing Certificate at University of San Diego. He swore he would never go back to school, but beer will make you do some crazy things. From there, Bret worked as a professional brewer for several years before taking the leap to open his own brewery in Spokane.

Lumberbeard Brewing was founded in 2018 and we are so excited to have you along for this crazy journey. We are committed to making excellent beers and desire to create a community where everyone feels welcome, cared for, and can find a beer they love!

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Dark brown pour yields a few short lived bubbles. Sweet, boozy aroma, chocolate, caramel, vanilla. Taste starts with some brown sugar sweetness, a warming hit of ABV, then subtle ice cream sundae flavors, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, nutty. Creamy feel. Pleasant heat all the way down.

16 oz. can, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals bright, dank hops, oily pine, and some doughy malt. Flavour is full of oily pine, gentle dankness, soft doughy malt, and some crisp biscuity malt. Oily, piney, only lightly bitter finish. Excellent.

Pale, with just a slight haze. Thin head. Clean pale malt, lots of hop on the nose. Clean palate, kind of refreshing, light seabreeze sort of mild berry fruitiness. Just seems refreshing. Moderate bitterness. Good quality.

16 oz can. Aroma is citrusy, piney, crackery, overripe strawberry, caramel. Pours hazy golden with a large soapy white head with good retention. Taste is moderately bitter with some light bready malt sweetness in support, finishing dry. Really well made, but these "pilsners" with New World hops don't taste like pilsners to me. They're more like IPL.
