Description
This is how it all began; this is the heart of our history. Sir Gerald Wight, founder of the Caribbean Development Company (CDC), ensured that the production process, which was based on the European-Continental method of brewing with our own twist, was mastered before the company’s flagship beverage, Carib Lager Beer was sold in 1950. In fact CDC still produces the perfect lager today because our formula continues to include the best ingredients, unwavering quality and constant innovation.
Today Carib Brewery boasts a portfolio that includes Beer, Malt, Stout and Soft Drinks. We produce Carib, Carib Light, Stag, Pola and Pola Light, Shandy Carib, Mackeson and Guinness as well as the following nonalcoholic brands; Ginseng-Up, Malta Carib, Malta Carib Ultra, Smalta Smalta Smiles – over 1,200,000 hectoliters of product every year.
Our acute insight into what our consumers enjoy has also inspired us to form partnerships with international companies such as Heineken International B.V., Diageo and Ginseng Up Corporation. As a result Heineken, Guinness Stout, Ginseng Up and Smirnoff Ice are also part of our portfolio.

From old tasting notes. Opaque brown color. Thick, rocky tannish brown head. Sweet molasses toasted malt nose. Sweet chocolate malt flavor. Exceptionally sweet finish. Little or no hops to speak of.

Beers of the World country 67: Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹
"The beer is, as you probably can guess from the photo, similar to Corona Extra. Golden colour and a small white foam head. It doesn’t taste too much but has a small hint of citrus towards the end. Just like any other Caribbean beer it probably tastes alot better when served ice cold on a beach in the heat 🙂" - beersoftheworldproject.wordpress.com

Bottle from Lupe Pinto. Appearance - Nose - sweetcorn and light butterscotch. Maybe it’s caramel. Taste - honey and lemon. Pale malt backdrop. Honey us the overriding note. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture. The finish could be fresher. Overall - a bit difficult to pick it out from other international pale lagers.

Bottle @ home. Clear yellow golden color, small white head. Smell and taste both are very very sweet with an artificial cocos and vanilla-ish flavor up front. Low body and carbonation. A sweet-tooth might like this but I found it undrinkable.

Pitch black pour with a thick mocha head and great retention. Spotty lacing. Slick mouthfeel. Smooth stout with a little licorice flavor. Okay. Not offensive. 6.8 ABV is undetectable.

330ml bottle from Tesco - Pale straw with a fizzy white head. Nose is grainy with a touch of earth. Rather undistinguished flavours... blah, blah Caribbean pale lager.

From old tasting notes. Medium gold color. Fine bead white head. Light malty aroma. Zesty tart grainy malt palate hints at citrus. Refreshing light dry finish and mild lingering aftertaste. Decently refreshing, especially when on a beach in the Bahamas.
