Well, it’s been some time since I had the first entry. Had this on 4th August, draft at Eleszto, Budapest. Hazy darker brown bodied with medium sized brownish head. Caramel, some fine herbal/peppery hop aroma, touch of chocolate and a bit vinous, giving it indeed a bit of Belgian bock feel. Flavor was pleasant, although messy, vinous, some bitter herbal notes intertwine with coffee sweetness/acidity/whatever, adding up with some wood and cooked plums later on. Generally bitterness is most dominating anyway. Fuller in body, which is expectable for a doppelbock at 8%. Spicy and earthy in the finish, along with some licorice and coffee notes. Alright, quite fine one, but had potential to be better I reckon.

04/08 On tap @Eleszto, Budapest. Opaque ivory to pale yellow colored with medium sized head. Very aromatic, pleasantly hopped, citrus, spicy and somewhat rose flowery. Flavor was less bitter than expected, although still tasted on that side, wheat chalk and earthiness are present as well, with some cloves and basil that were already announced in aroma. More bitterness came towards the finish, its medium to full body built a longer aftertaste, pleasantly rounding this spiced wheat. Decent one, interesting although nothing extraordinary altogether.

Appearance: Black color with a big beige head. Nice lacing.
Aroma: Mild chocolate, coffee and rich hoppy.
Palate: Thick oily body. Slightly sweet and a rich bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Coffee, chocolate and heavy hopped. Complex heavy stuff.
Overall impression: Tasty and powerful ale. A litte bit out of balance. Heavy dry hopped I belive. In the end it felt like when you taste the brew just after you have finished the boiling. Lots of hop sediments in the glass.
Personal stats: On tap at Csak a Jó Sör - Only Good Beer inBudapest, Hungary.

Bottled from Only Good Beer in Budapest. Copper-amber color with good and white foam. Hop aroma (piney and herbs), good and stable bitterness, long and dry aftertaste = good IPA.

On tap. Hazy golden body, white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, but it has some clove notes in it too. Taste of citrusy, grassy hops, cloves and bread. I prefer the more traditional weizens, but this beer is fine.

updated rating: hazy yellow colour, moderate off-white head; aroma of pineapple, mango, wet wheat, some caramel-honey-like notes and celery; taste is quite same to the aroma; well, I tasted it more than 3 years ago and now it seems to be much better than it was - in the end they found the harmony of wheat and hops - it is really unfortunate that they have just ceased to brew beers

hazy golden colour, not too much white head; aroma of grass with citrus notes and something sweet; taste is fully dominated by hops - cool bitterness with some citrus again and some minimal malty sweetness and extremely long lasting bitter aftertaste - really great lager
