Bomber at McCools. Pours a clear golden almost yellow color with a small bubbly head. A nice fresh apple nose with some honey. The flavor is sweet apples. champagne yeast, earthy at times, sweet with a light tart apple, very fresh and light on the palate. Good. --- Beer merged from original tick of Stinger - Hard Apple Cider (Dry) on 05 May 2013 at 21:55 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8.5. Bottle from the brewery. Pours a clear yellow color, frankly unappealing. A nice nose of big clover and honey. Sweet, rich honey and massive earthy fruity clover and sage, some light apples. Good. A bit thin.

Bottle from the meadery. Pours a clear yellow color. A light nose of clove and honey. The flavor is a somewhat inharmonious mix: fruit, sweetness, comes in as a solid strawberry when pondered a bit, big spiciness, earthy, raw, not a lot of sticky sugary honey. Leaves with a blast of herbs that is almost akin to sulfur. Decent. Needs way more oomph.

375 ml bottle. Pours a clear yellow hue. A sweet nose of honey and pear. Big floral notes, certainly quite dry as they said, pineapple and pear. Sweet honey at times, but very subdued. Finishes clean and dry. My only issue with the Hive Winery meads is that they lack a ummph: with 12.8% we could pack in some major flavor here. Still, well done.

Small bottle from the Brewery. Pours a deep purple color with no head. Looks great. A deep nose that mirrors some dark sweet red wines. Sweet mix of honey and berries, light tartness, the mix really works here, and the 2 flavors compliment each other well. Finishes warm. Excellent sipper.

Small bottle from the brewery. Pours a mostly clear yellow color, actually when examining closer there is a ton of particulates in this. I assume this might be apricot, but I guess it could be yeast. A sweet nose of honey and non-distinct fruit. Smooth, clean, a bit of sweet ripe apricots, light smooth honey. Pretty sweet. Good.
