Pours with a mix of flavors including roasted malty, caramelly, and bitter notes, yet the bitterness is unpleasant, resembling something moldy or nutty. The sweetness is acceptable, but tastes cheap. Some tasters found it tolerable due to the presence of licorice.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Near black, small beige head. Aroma of aniseed and coffee. Sweetish with full body and dense mouthfeel. Tobacco, aniseed and coffee, some burned asphalt. Mid bitter finish. To be fair, this beer is way better than most hyped imperial stouts that sells for top $. While this unfortunately does not mean all that much, it is a real surprise coming from Vestfyen (Olvi).
