Cask @ New Brew-m, Burnley. Golden and light textured, with a creamy head. Has a good malt-hop balance, without much character, but is a good session ale. There’s hints of fruit throughout and a mild sweetness in its taste, and a berry one in its nose.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Tucker’s Maltings Beer Festival, 15/4/2016. Golden in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Aroma of lemons, hay and lager hops. Flavour of cereal malts and more lemon fruit, leading to a decent, bitter, finish. Good.

Cask at the Greyfriar, Reading. Clear gold with a thick white head. Caramel and vanilla at first with growing apple skin and honey and a touch of lemon. However the apple and lemon are very light meaning that it’s on the sweet side, although somehow not too sweet. Good body. Pleasant spring beer, just needs a little more oomph.

Cask at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough. A pales straw with ring of white head; floral aroma; a crisp bitterness from the start with a touch of citrus; and a lingering fruity bitterness to finish. Very easy drinking and moreish.

Pigs Ear Day 4. Cask. Clear deep red - amber beer, good bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry. Modest fine carbonation. A mild tang on the dark malts. Touches of dark chocolate and cocoa powder. Mild floral bitterness. Light tangy finish leaves a mild bitter linger. Not too much coconut in this underwhelming beer.
