We at Downton Brewery dare to be different!; Brewing an eclectic range to excite the senses is our goal, and has been ever since we began brewing in 2003. With a passionate team, using the best ingredients, we hope you enjoy the beers as much as we do!
Our philosophy is to utilise the best ingredients creating a variety of styles to delight every drinker. English malts and exciting hop varieties from around the world are blended and experimented with in a range of regulars and one-off specials alike. As well as award-winning session bitters, our hop forward APAs, Imperial Stout and IPA and speciality ales ensure there is plenty of choice all year round.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 1/03/10. Pale brown in colour with a lacy, off-white head. Chewy malts, a touch of summer fruits and decent, bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at Battersea beer festival 2010. A deep ruby coloured pour with an off white head. Honey, chocolate aroma. Tastes sweet but in a nice way, honey, slight chocolate notes, malty, roasty. A pleasant porter from a quality brewery.

Cask at Battersea beer festival 2010. Dark brown/black pour with a lasting thin beige head. Aroma of chocolate. Tastes roasty, dark fruit, malty, hint of chocolate/coffee. A very easy drinking stout.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 07/02/10. Golden in colour with a decent white head. Sweet malt, hay and apricot aroma. Light mouth feel, with some biscuit malts, more fruits, and a short , bitter finish. Ok.

Cask@OConnells, Tampere. Slightly hazy yellowish golden colour with small fluffy head. Aroma is fruits, nectar, mild yeastyness as well as some grassy and herbal notes. Flavour is quite grassy, floral hops as well as some slight eggy notes. Quite dry mouthfeeel.

Bottle. Pours a very pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty spicy aroma with some hitns of honey. Fruity malty picy honey flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy finish.

Cask @ Priory Arms, Stockwell, London SW8. Pours a dark brown/amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity roasted malty aroma with hints of raisin. Roasted malty fruity caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel finish.

28th August 2007. Light and aromatic. Distinct elderflower taste but not sweet. Hoppy and slightly bitter. Very light!
