Description
Down in New Zealand we’re at the edge of the world, and that sort of isolation can do strange things to your thinking! But sometimes strange is good and our beer reflects New Zealand inventiveness and creativity. We have taken the best of the old world styles and given them a new world twist.
Formed in 2016, we set about to challenge the notion that NZ breweries could only export to Australia and Asia, or that the US was the future for our beer.
We wanted to bring our beer to where it all began, where the customer was starting to demand something more innovative and exciting in their pint glass, and to where the local brewing scene was fast becoming the most exciting in the world.
For us beer quality, variety and the NZ ingredients are just as important as the people we drink them with.
As we have evolved so too has our offering. We now exclusively import 8 New Zealand Breweries, one Australian brewery, a cider producer and distribute and export a New Zealand brewery that has set up in the UK.

7/10
Bold tropical sweet fruity with lots of passionfruit and papaya, juicy mango and nectarine, motueka citrus lime and lemon citrus action, sweet malt support, warming boosty hoppy finish. Pretty good.

Can from LCB. Pours black with fizzy beige head which faded. Aroma has a chocolate milkshake vibe with light roast malt and subtle hops. Taste of that honeycomb with chocolate, coffee, dark malts, touch of molasses and a bit of licoricey spice in the finish. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, slightly chewy. Good.

30/9/2023. Can at the Torun GP beer share. From New Zealand Beer Collective. Pours hazy orange gold with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, orange, stone fruits, caramel, pine. Medium sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Medium body, smooth, soft carbonation. Enjoyed this.

[44cl can from Lowcostbeer.] A glossy pitch black pour with a lasting beige head; aroma of honeycomb and chocolate syrup; smooth syrupy chocolate body; a hint of bitterness, and a lingering caramel finish. Definitely a reminder of Hokey Pokey, one of the many delights we discovered on our first holiday in New Zealand in 2018.

[44cl can from LowCostBeer.] A hazy amber pour with a tight cream coloured head; tropical fruit aroma with a lot of alcohol; in the mouth there's some tart fruit and alcohol at first, then a smooth sweet fruity body with apricot and mango; the finish has some pithy bitterness and leads to a satisfying conclusion as the warmth laps the belly.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Hazy yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is floral, some spruce tips, mild nectar and a very tiny bit caramel malts. Flavour is floral, fruity, nectary and some slight alcohol sweetness to it.

440ml can as part of a delivery from New Zealand Beer Collective. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold and a full off-white head. Burning intense hop oil aroma, medicinal and sugary at the same time, with mango and cantaloupe hiding behind the intensity. Delicious taste, but sweet, sweet, sweet, with pineapple plus more melon and mango hiding the booze surprisingly well. Long finish which deals quite well with the ABV and flavour, avoiding a terrible burn at the end. Medium carbonation. This is the motherfuckiest beer I've had in a while. Love it.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Hazy copper colour, small head. Fierce alcoholic nose with cherry brandy and orange. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Intensely boozy with tangerine, nectarine and red berries. Really warming finish. Surprised to see this is only 10%.
