Cask @Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours amber with nice white head. Decent hoppy aroma. Taste hits you with a huge hit of hops with a robust bitter finish. Surprisingly hoppy actually, esp for the ABV. Very nice.

Cask, Liverpool Craft Beer Expo, Camp & Furnace. Dark brown looks with a thin tan head. Nose had notes of roast, ash and blackberry. Flavour was gently sweet with more blackberry, chocolate, ash, malt and coffee notes. Maybe a bit on the thin side, but ok stuff.

Two hand-pulled half-pints in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury on 8th Dec 2014. Gold body below a thin wispy white head. Citrus fruit aromas fight it out with a sweet caramel malt base and just about win. The same battle in the taste, again with the citrus flavours overcoming the maltiness. Hides the 5.8% ABV very nicely: really enjoyed both my halves.

500ml bottle from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Soft floral spice, not a huge Belgian yeast influence but it’s there. A fresh easy-going IPA.

500ml bottle from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a dark hazy brown. Aroma is spice, sultanas and Christmas pudding. Taste is sherry-rich Christmas pudding, perhaps a little too flat for me, but a lovely sweet Christmas beer with big bold flavours.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear mediun brown with a thin off white head and a little lace. The aroma is roasted malt, light smoke. The flavour is moderate bitter with a roast, grass nettle citrus hop palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A very drinkable ale.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival, Nov 14. Pours gold with slight haze. Aroma is strong whisky and restrained ginger. Taste is very boozy, with clear whisky notes and possibly even a little vodka alcohol in there? Ginger is present too but very subtle. Not my thing I have to say.
