Description
Stereo Brewing was born after a long night of listening to great vinyl and drinking great beer. Rick Smets, now Owner & Brewer wanted a way to mix his love for music with his lifelong passion for brewing.

When describing Stereo, Rick tends to mention bands that would never play a stage together – Grateful Dead meets Dead Kennedys meets Duke Ellington. His eclectic music tastes carry over into Stereo’s beer styles. Some high notes include Hazey Jane II, a refreshing ginger beer, Blonde on Blonde Kölsch (named after the great Bob Dylan album) and Perfect Day IPA - a citrusy piney nod to Lou Reed. It addition to the brewing facility, Stereo has a 1,000 square feet on-site tap room open Wednesday through Sunday. The tap room serves tasting flights, pints and fresh beer to-go in Crowlers®. Come in to listen to music from our restored reel-to-reel or help us pick out the next record to spin.

Can from Total Wine & More, W. Hollywood. Clear, golden yellow, nice sparkle, 2-finger head with excellent retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong Pilsner malt and hint of citrus from the hops. Taste is strong Pilsner malt. Smooth, frothy, soft carbonation, dry finish as taste. Good representative of the style.

Draft pour pint at Stereo, Placentia. Clean and clear golden pour. Patchy head. Intense aroma with oily dank hops and straw grains. Flavor is on the intense side for a lighter standard pale. Some citrus peel flavor and bitterness. Sharp lingering palate. Slight nutty grain throughout. Overall a unique pale, and decently enjoyable.

US pint can on 6th July 2023, a present from my daughter and drank in her house, poured into a Temecula Football Club pint sleeve. Clean golden body, spotty white head. Grassy/floral nose, dry hop taste, both piney and fruity with a slightly tart orange like finish.

20th March 2023. Monthly Beer Share, Chez Sophie in Shrewsbury; five guys who love beer and talk bollox while drinking. US Pint can brought by me in Huntington Beach and shared with the boys. Clear amber body, slightly off-white crown. Malty sweet with a piney backbone, nice boozy feel to it also.

Tall can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, March 23. Orangey amber appearance, large off-white head. Pleasantly smooth easy drinking red ale with mild herbal pine notes and a prominent sweet malt character. Decent.

16oz tap pour at the Beach Hut Deli in Mission Viejo on 5th January 2023. Bright and clean light golden pour, short lived white head. Very dry from start to finish, certainly thirst quenching but lacked flavour or depth for me.

Pretty plain, so good for style I guess. Lacks the extra bit of zing that the best marzens have. Copper pour without much head retention. Some lingering bitterness. Can.

On tap at The Joint. Pours a clear deep gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of citrus and earthy pine with a bit of sweet grains and a bit of grass. Flavor has pine and citrus rind with a bit of grain and resin backing.

5oz pour on a flight at The Brewhouse, San Juan Capistrano on 1st February 2022. Looks like a golden lager, it's pale and has a white head. Decent enough blend of maltiness and hop bitterness (no citrus fruits were harmed in this brew), drying finish.
