330ml bottle from Tebay Services, M6. Pours dark, decent tan head. Aroma is lightly sweet, cocoa, dark berries. Taste is oily, smooth cocoa with a curious sweetness. Low bitterness, more chocolate-focussed than roast and that sweetness that’s hard to pin down. Expected a little more layered depth for the strength, but it’s still a likeable stout.

500ml bottle into a UK pint sleeve at home on 28th Sep 2016. Clear, bright amber body, white foam blanket for a head. Malty lead in both the nose and taste, soon overtaken by the hop content that is bitter and orange in flavour, like a rough marmalade with dry hops on. Nice!

[ As Stringers Turbine Porter ].Clear medium to dark red brown color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, dark malt, roasted, shoe polish, light yeasty, fruity. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average duration, sharp, dark malt, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Bottle from the Beer Emporium’s bottle shop, Bristol. Pours a deep maroon brown with a milk chocolate brown head. Aroma of rich roasted chocolate, plum, blackberry, raspberry, vanilla with an alcohol edge, well it is 9.3%. Light sweetness, medium roasted bitterness, touch of sour developing. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Finish is sweeter with lasting roasting and fruitiness. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Suprising head for an imperial double stout. Nose is tobacco, ash, beech, fruity notes (blueberry?) and bubble gum. Taste is cherry, cola, strong fruity notes with pronounced blueberry, more of the bubble gum, a little of the smoke from the nose in the finish. Further sips bring in salt, and licorice, with some further dark fruits. This is a very disjointed imperial stout which lacks depth, the fruit notes are off style and overwhelm the rest of the beer to it’s detriment. Poor.

500ml bottle: BBE Jun 16. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 27th Sep 15. Clear light amber body with a full off-white foam blanket on top. Mild citrus aroma and flavour, semi-bitter overall, fairly dry aftertaste and quite refreshing. Decent session ale, would be happy to sit in a pubs sunny beer garden and sup a few of these during a leisurely afternoons drinking.
