Bottle, from trade with Cunningham. A huge, creamy, dark beige head forms over a clear looking black body. Curtains. The aroma is burnt and roasted, with some bonfire and dark dried fruits. A touch of licorice and milk chocolate shows up after the beer warms up slightly. It's quite effervescent on the palate, medium to full-bodied and mostly on the dry side. Roasted malts, charcoal, burnt malt notes, some coffee and prunes, along with cocoa and salty licorice in the flavor. Quite lasting finish. Way too heavy on the carbonation this one, else it's a decent brew indeed. 220323

Bottle, from trade with Cunningham. A dense, off-white two-finger head forms over a very lightly foggy, sparkling golden colored body. The aroma is very fruity, almost candy-ish, with hints of grass and citrus zest. Some sulphury, yeasty, rubbery hints. It's effervescent and medium bodied, semi-dry, with a light bitterness. Fruity flavor too, quite generic, with some banana, lemon and hints of orange. Some sulphur and yeast chimes in, and so do wheaty pale malts too. Mostly fruity finish. Sort of weiss-ish profile, but more like an American Wheat. Pity about the yeasty aromas and flavors, it could be a decent thirst quencher without. 220323

7.2/10 Appearance 8 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 8 Overall 7
Bottle, from trade with Cunningham. It's a clear, golden colored beer with a small, dense, white head. The aroma is quite piney, grassy and lightly peppery, with some pale malts and hints of hay. Unfortunately there's also some lightly sickening scents there, especially just after pouring. It's medium bodied and nicely carbonated, quite dry and crisp, with a light sweetness in the back. Enough bitterness to handle that though. The flavor has pale malts and some hay and earthy hints in the back, with piney, lightly peppery and herbal hops up front. Some citrus zest in the finish. The first aroma was a bit disturbing, else it's a fine pilsner that should slake the thirst easily. Rating: 5-4-6-4-13-3.2 220323.

Bottle, from the brewery. There's obviously been an improvement since the first time I tried it, which was more or less a test batch. It's a clear, golden colored beer wtih a nice white head leaving lacing. The aroma is lightly malty, grainy, with grass, pine cones and a peppery hop touch. It's crisp on the palate, medium to full-bodied and nicely carbonated, mostly on the dry side, with a fine bitterness. Nice flavor of pale malts with piney, grassy hops. Medium length finish. A very fine pilsner indeed, crisp, refreshing and tasteful. 240622

Bottle, from trade with Cunningham. It's a clear deep amber to copper colored beer wtih a rather minimalistic off-white head. Mostly malty-sweetish aroma with dark bread, caramel and some light roasted malts. Some faint hoppy notes too. It's sweet and medium to thin bodied, very lightly carbonated, with a malt driven flavor. Toffee, bread, roasted malt hints and some prunes, along with a very light grassy hint. Lasting malty finish. Too malt driven this one, lacking on the hops I think. 220302

Bottle, from trade with Cunningham. It pours a clear dark golden colored body under a lasting finger-thick off-white head. Some curtains. The aroma is quite weak, with flowery notes, grass, some piney, peppery hints and a faint bread dough maltyness. Vague notes of sulphur. It's medium bodied and quite dry on the palate, with a decent carbonation. Some doughy, bready malts and hints of wet hay in the back of the flavor, but mostly it's grassy, fruity and flowery hops. Some caramel too, especially in the finish. Not the worst first encounter I've had with a brewery, it's a pretty decent and quenching beer. 220302
