Bottle from Systembolaget. Decent enough Stout. Offered up some good bitterness and roasted flavours with a nice lasting foam.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours a golden yellow with a msall white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly lemongrass, but with some medicinal overtones. In the mouth it has a slightly watery texture and a bit of a strange flavour. Initially herbs, grains and ginger are prominent. Later, floral hops and more general spice come through. Finish is slightly dry and spicy. It’s a bit weird, but certainly OK – and definitely swiggablr !

500ml bottle from Co Op Bridlington, drunk at our lodge in Skirlaugh. Bright yellow with a faint mist, good white head. Nice balanced blonde, soft pale malt, distant flora, crisp and refreshing.

Bottle from Cheers Liquor Store, Todmorden. Clear copper-amber, quite dark in this, with a small head. Malty and sweet, so much so in the latter there's a lot of red-berry influence that comes across as cherry at times. Similar in aroma.

330ml bottle from Co-Op, Louth. Drunk at our holiday lodge in Louth before going to see the seal pups at Donna Nook. Misty pale amber appearance, with small white foamy head atop. Light ginger aroma, continuing to taste to form a breezy ginger beer character, gently sparkling.. doesn't really taste too alcoholic or even like a pale ale, but pleasant sipper overall.
