12 oz. can from H.E.B. Plus, Boerne, TX. Pours a semi-clear bronze color with a khaki head and decent retention. Minimal lacing. Caramel malt aroma. Tastes more like a Vienna lager versus an Oktoberfest. Light caramel malt flavor with a mellow, bland finish. Okay overall but underwhelming. Medium body. Mellow carbonation. Low bitterness.

Panther Island Brewing is a good place to visit, nice folks and good beer. This evening I have a 12 oz can of EOS to try. If I had a glass from the brewery I would use it, I do not so I will stay local with a Cowtown snifter. The pour is an almost black liquid with a credible head of creamy tan foam that settles to a fine skin. The scent is a a curious mix of chocolate, coffee and astringent. Fortunately the taste is way better. Heavy with coffee to begin with, chocolate malt, char to a degree that is tolerable to me, a bit of blackberries and wheat toast. Thinner than I prefer for an imperial stout but the drink pushed that issue away. Not bad.

12 oz can from Total Wine - San Antonio. Pours a cloudy gold color with a white head and decent retention. Almost no lacing. Basic malt aroma. Basic blonde ale taste too: Pale malt flavor with a little bread and a hint of hops in the finish. Crisp and clean mouthfeel. Not bitter. Nothing revelrous, just a decent basic blonde.
