Can from Coop Orminge. Cola brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma is quite pleasant with dark malt, chocolate, light roast and a little bit of earth. Taste is just bland and watery with some light doses of grain, earth, low quality dark chocolate and roast. Very thin.

Shared 14.9 oz. can. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a creamy fine-grained beige head. Aroma of roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt, with faint hints of chocolate and coffee. Palate is a bit thin. Disappointing.

Draught Very dense, ultra-fine beige-cream head over jet-black beer. Good burnt/stout’ nose with some black chocolate, roasted coffee and old wood. Taste is much more mildly roasted, if not really sweetish. Finish sports a bit of charcoal. Medium bodied, quite slick, good carbonation, if the texture is less creamy than I seem to remember. The quintessential Corcaigh stout, amen to Beamish.
