A fine stout, giving Guinness real competition. ............................

Drank this stuff in Italy a lot. Cos it is just better then Stella Artois or Nastro Azurro or Peroni.

I like the way it looks. Black with a thick creamy head: beautiful! But when is it going to taste like the way it looks? It will probably never be so... :-(

Reddish amber colour; malty flavours - toffeeish notes, some corn syrup as well. Rather straightforward character.

I don't see the appeal of this beer. It looks very nice, but as others have noted, the head did dissipate rather quickly and was never as tight and big as Guinness. The aroma was nothing but a slight sourness and sweetness. Flavor: I detected a background of bitterness from the hops, but absolutely no malt flavors at all. Nothing. Just bitterness, plus a little sourness, but no detectable flavor whatsoever. I tried letting it warm up a little more, but to no avail, still no malts.

It’s become so tough to find Murphy’s these days, but this place not only has it but it was outselling Guinness 6 to 1 when I was there. Near black colour with a massive creamy nitro head. Not a whole ton of aroma - surprise, surprise - but a hint of roast and coffee. Flavour is balanced, malt-accented with chocolate and light roast. Kind of like a mocha but with less sugar. It actually leans slightly towards bitterness. Dryish finish is a bit breadcrusty. If it weren’t for the overly creamy body this would be pretty appetizing.
