Pours a beautiful deep black with a thick creamy everlasting head and nice lacing. Aroma is black coffee and roasted malts. Roasted malty and bitter taste. Creamy bitter palate. Very nice stout.

Rerate, tap: Neutral aroma. Chestnut, big creamy nitro head. Dusty roast notes, a bit wood. Fairly lightbodied - served too cold of course. Light roasted aftertaste ######## Old rating: 6 5 7 4 13 Sampled from can. Widget works very well, very dark and with a nice creamy head. Subdued flavors, but burned toast, coffee and a bit bitterhop can be detected. Creamy mouthfeel but fast exit.

Dark, creamy head. Light roasted malt nose. Good body, smooth, with a very good balance of malt, roasted malt, hop, a bit fruity, very light coffee, yeast. Also the palate is well balanced.

Very light, almost nonexistant roasted aroma. Nice creamy tan head sits atop a rich chocolate-brown body, very typical of the style. Is there any damn difference between this and Beamish? Actually, yes. Murphys Irish is thin-bodied and "watery" like Beamish, but the flavor is a bit more noteworthy, with stronger roasted notes and good hints of chocolate to complement a creamy mouthfeel. These Irish draught style stouts sure don't stray from formula, satisfying the masses as an ale version of corporate radio.

Dry roasted malt aroma on the creamy, thick tan nitrogen head. I swear nitrogen carbonation contributes to a particular aroma found in all of these beers...but I digress. The beer is very dark, but the body is surprisingly (well, probably not all that surprisingly) thin. Roasted flavors, some chocolate, even a bit of sweetness to counter the overall bitter feel. Eminently quaffable, distressingly conformist.

Draught Can - This is the most perfect-looking Irish stout I've ever seem. Perfect, creamy, long-lasting head. Smooth and roasty - you can taste the mineral salts. Zero bitterness. Better than Guinness in my book.

Can. Black with a creamy head. Aroma of coffee. Flavor of coffee and bitter chocolate. Thick and filling. Left a dry taste in my mouth. Full bodied, but not as filling as Guinness. Very enjoyable.

Opaquely black in colour, with the fantastic tan head straight from the widget can! Very subtle smell with hints of malt. The taste is a little bitter, but an all-around great taste with a somewhat smokey aftertaste!
