Hard to believe I never rated this, well, nothing like the right time.
Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a ruby red color with a sly transparency about it. Finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a subtle pace. Stringy lace.
The aroma combines toast, nuts, caramel/toffee malts and a delicate sweet cream. Some grassy hops underneath.
The flavor leans towards the sweet side through the toast, malts and nuts. Hops barely play any part in this department. Nice smooth sweet aftertaste flowing into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt right.
Overall, I like this one as an Irish red ale, not sure why it doesn’t get better marks, but then again, I’m guessing no one else is rating to style. Oh well, I’ll drink more of this preferably this time of year.

Tap @ Trinity Bar, Dublin shared with Niilstrong. Clear golden color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, some bitterness, malty hayish bitter. Not bad, better than expected actually.

On tap. Black colour, beautiful frothy head that stays long. Aroma is roasted malt, quite dry, but without ash. Medium bitterness. Light body, but not watery. Drinkable. Good.
