A light orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet fruity - somewhat exotic. The flavor is also sweet fruity - like some exotic fruit juice - not really a beer to me. No wonder the body is thin.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pale golden with a small and lovely creamy head. Indefinable sweetish aroma. Incredibly light body with sweetish, fruity notes - tropical fruit like pawpaw - and some pear. Lightly artificial sweet finish. Not unpleasant as such, but very, very unusual. Thanks to Jeppe for bringing me this 221005

Bottled(330ml). -my first Indonesian beer, quite pleasant hoppy aroma, slightly malty but nothing except that, clean refreshing beer but little bit too vain

Canned (bought in Guangzhou.) Black, no head. Aroma of tar and mashed apples. Sweet and fruity with sharp metallic mouthfeel. Acidic appley finish. The worst Guinness I’ve had by far. It is actually worse than most rice lagers available in China...

Bottled. Yellow/golden colour, small white head. Weak skunked hops in aroma. Watery and a bit hoppy. Bitter aftertaste. Quite unplesant.

Pale yellow, not much head. Light grassy, a bit skunked hoppy nose. Very watered. A bit sweet malty. Not big failures but totally uninteresting lager, maybe ice cold in real hot weather this goes well.

This was the Chinese version, also 5%, sampled in Chengdu, brewed in Guangzhou. I’m looking into whether that is significantly different from the Indonesian version.
Bottled: virtually black colour, with a mocha head. Fruity (plum, raisin), lightly roasty aroma. Hoppy dryness in the finish. Not hugely complex but flavours are full, rounded and balanced. A fine version of FES.
A sample from the can (again brewed in Guangzhou, sampled in Yangshuo and Nanning) seemed to have a simpler flavour profile and thinner mouthfeel. Ar 6, Ap 3, Fl 6, P 3, O 12 for a total score of 3.0
