What's Your Name Mean?
"Want to play a game?" Used to be our response, but because of our growth and your support we're adding this link to ease your curiosity. No, it's not an acronym. Yes, it is a name! But it's not a combination of ours. In fact, Andrew and Kai are brother-in-laws. Each married to 2 of 3 sisters. Richard's brother is married to the third. And Voila! There it is! We are all family by marriage and bond. Oh, and the name.... is the girl's maiden name! Brownie points

Can to tulip.
Appearance: burnt orange haziness with a two and a half fingers of white foamy head which settled off nicely to barely leave any lace
Aroma: pineapple, kiwi, grapefruit, lemon and orangey hop tones; light clean malts
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to bittersweet quality; finishes leaning into the pineapple & orangey hop tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, good smoothness, light hop bitterness assertiveness
Overall: one of Aslin's better beers to me, but I say that's because this is better balanced.

Can to lager glass.
Appearance: glossy burnt yellow to almost copper color with a three finger white foamy head which took it's time to dissipate then once it did some light lace stuck to the sides of the glass.
Aroma: subtle lemon to melon hop notes with a light clean malt bill, light hop spice came out with more warmth
Flavor: seemed to combine the prior noted aromas to a crisp sweet to a low bittersweet quality; finishes quaintly with the lemon hoppiness and an underscore of slight grassiness
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, brisk smoothness with that hop spice trying to clamp down on the tongue but doesn't
Overall: so this is a Czech pilsener, I guess? Hmmm, maybe somewhat a "modernized" one? Hmmm...I think I could come back to this.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: pale orange haziness with a two and a half fingers of white foamy head which trailed off at a decent pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: melon, star fruit and piney hops with a big vanilla/lactose tone to it
Flavor: takes the prior noted aromas and seems to add a light passion fruit hop tone which seems to kick out a bit more lactose (hmmm, okay, seems we're headed somewhere now); finishes seemingly balanced headed with the those prior mentioned fruity hops to the lactose
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, smooth through the creamy notes and seems that the fruity hop bitterness is really pushing back
Overall: a milkshake IPA that seems way more balanced than so many of it's kind. Maybe Aslin took notes from Brix City (NJ) or Weldwerks (CO)? (I dunno - I'm only saying that because I think they're the best brewers of milkshake IPA's, IMO)

Can to tulip.
Appearance: thick orange haziness with a two and a quarter fingers of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: melon to peach to mango hop notes; light pine, clean malts underneath
Flavor: balances the prior noted aromas to a bittersweet to juicy sweet quality; finishes with the peachy & mango hoppy vibes with some malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; good smoothness along the tongue; was glad that there's some low hop bitterness assertiveness in this
Overall: there we go, Aslin! Stay the course with beers like this! Then I'll keep trying your beers!

Can to tulip.
Appearance: amber to orange cloudiness with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to barely leave any lace
Aroma: sweet oranges, light lemon sweet whiffs, big vanilla/lactose scents
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas in a pretty big sweet sort of way; finishes orangey with a ton of lactose
Texture: between light and medium bodied; sessionable - yes - odd for as big an ABV as it is, but yes, this is quite a drinkable beer! Some smoothness but also seemed like it was getting borderline watery, hmmmm...
Overall: I know I'd be slaughtered by the untappd junkies that bow down to "milkshake IPA's" as if milkshake IPA's are God's gifts to beers but I feel better about saying this here - if this is your beer goat then I feel sorry for your naivete to how vast the beer world truly is.

Grapefruit and unripe pineapple. Pretty nice initial hop aroma. Pours clear golden with decent initial head. Light slightly tangy end, some bitterness. A little cloy but doesn't hang out too long. Tap at Herndon taproom.

Pretty nice. Chicory adds a good vibe to this one. Roast, some bitter dark chocolate and coffee. Pours black with pretty good head. Bitter end with a hint of caramel. Best dark beer I've had from Aslin in a minute. Tap at Herndon taproom.

Maple syrup isn't too potent on this one. Adds some dimension to an otherwise unimaginative beer. Pours dark brown with ok head. Light tangy end that cloys for a bit. Tap at brewery taproom in Herndon.

Tangerine and some peel. Pine. Rye malt comes through fairly big. Pours dark orange amber with ok soap bubbles. Medium bitter end. Pleasant rye IPA. Tap at Herndon location.

Big lemon juice here. Rides through to the finish with a sour aftertaste. That finish isn't totally unpleasant. Some candied lemon drop there too at the end. Tap at Herndon location.
