Macks Ølbryggeri is the northernmost brewery in the world. The brewery was founded in 1877 by Ludwig Markus Mack. Mack is the fourth largest brewery in Norway, and is probably one of the strongest brands from Northern Norway. Our main production is located in Nordkjosbotn, approximately 70 km from Tromsø. Mack's historical sites in Tromsø houses our administration, the beer shop Kjeller 5, our legendary pub Ølhallen and Mack Microbrewery.

Canned 330ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him & Hrabren. Dark amber/almost brown coloured, medium sized pale beige head, malty and light pet food in the nose. Sweet malty, dried fruits, raisins and light pet food with notes of honey and alcohol in the finish. Too sweet overall.

0.33l can, huge thanks djoeye. Shared with Hrabren and Ogi. Hazy dark brown, vaguely amberish along the edges, thick, creamy beige head gone fairly soon. Dried dog food and heaps of dried fruit in the aroma, bit jammy. The purest note of dried dog food I've felt in a beer for a while mixes with honey and dried fruit, creamy, well hidden alcohol, tea notes, maybe trace oxidation. Can't hate it, but it has its issues.

0.33 l can thanks to Marko, shared with Ogi and him. Almost clear amber to brown, small tan head. Aroma is fruity, dried fruit, raisins, candy, herbal and yeasty, meaty. Hints of alcohol. Smooth, sweet, slightly sticky, not too strong. Flavour is intense dried fruit, raisins, strawberry, candy, dried dates, soft yeasty notes. Finishes sweet.

170ml draught at Ølhallen. A clear warm golden body under a film-type layer, upper part lacing. Inviting smell of grain and ripe fruits. Moments of ripe orange and bread-like malts to the taste character, fine balanced. Malt-hoppy finish, clean on the swallow. Medium bodied. Pretty decent. (Tromsø, 31.03.2026)

Mild lime/lemon touch
