Description
Our brewery was located in Uckfield, East Sussex and we had a Oban 10BBL, 2-Vessel brewery with 400kg mashtun and custom-made copper/whirlpool. 4x fermentation vessels - 2x conical and 2x open-topped.
Our brewery is now (since May 2026) located in our bar “The Tasting Room” in the heart of Worthing, West Sussex. We have a 2.5BBL(400 litre), 2-Vessel brewery with 100kg mashtun. 2 open-topped fermentation vessels are currently located in the back room with 2 conical fermentation vessels hopefully coming soon and will be situated directly in the bar.
We created Merakai Brewing CO. on a foundation of Equality, Taste, and Community. From the people we collaborate with, the communities we support, and the people we employ.
We know there are like-minded people out there who are looking for something different, a change from the ‘norm’ and mainstream.

On tap at The Green Goddess, Blackheath Royal Standard. Cloudy gold pour with a white head. Definitely a minty lime nose (as per the blurb), whack of grapefruit, mango. Certainly has a similar approach in the taste, light minty backnote- quite subtle. Fresh citrusy hoppy finish. Interesting.

440ml can from Left Field Beer, Solihull. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a short-lived, fizzy white head. The aroma is mango passionfruit. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a fresh, crisp, juicy passionfruit, light tart pineapple, light pepper spicy dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation.

Can 44 cl. Pours a thick and pulpy orangey with absolutely no head. Looks lika a mix between carrot and mango juice. Intense fruit smoothie aroma with mango and passion fruit standing out - and then salt! It IS a gose base after all. Very late comes a hint of coconut. A salty, tropical fruit juice is what it is. A very strange bird indeed. 061223

Can from Beer 52 – drank at home. It didn’t froth out when I opened the can, but did so when I tried to carefully pour it into a glass. Anyway, pours a dark murky brown with a huge beige head. There’s malts and biscuits in the aroma, together with traces of dark fruits and tar. In the mouth it is briefly sweet before some berry fruit sharpness kicks in. This is followed by malts and hints of chocolate, and the return of watery sweetness. Finish has a slight pepperiness. This is a decent mild

200ml draught at Tromsø Mikrobryggeri. Coal black in the glass, bubbly ring to the rim of the surface, scattered lacing. Attractive on the nose with vanilla sweet chocolate added by a spicy scent. Comprehensive, well balanced taste of chocolate, cocoa powder, and dark berry-fruits. Lingering ending of chocolate malts and dark berries. Full bodied and smooth on the swallow. Good drinking. (Tromsø, 13.08.2023).
