Description
LOC Brewery brews quirky, craft beers that are a voyage of discovery for the taste senses. It is our ambition to conquer the world with this. LOC Brewery wants to experiment with flavours, herbs, fruit and even let beers mature in wooden barrels.
LOC Brewery is an initiative of Roy Maas (he left in 2018), Erwin Schellekens, Daniel Tano and Paul Cools. The four know each other because their children were in the same class, so they met in the schoolyard. In December 2014, LOC Brewery started brewing small amounts of beer. Since then, brewing has accelerated to meet the demand from tastings and events. The first beer was launched in June 2015.

At a tasting, thanks, smallish creamy head, aroma of chocolate and beef stock cube, a bit strange, strong savory umami flavor with some light bitter chocolate and wet wood. Not too appealing.

Sampled from bottle at Goud Winterbier 2018. Black with light tan head. Sweet roasted chocolate malt and burnt malt. Ashtray. Sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Guys when it’s burning it’s wasted, throw it away.

Tap at Winterbierfestival Gouda. Black with dark beige head. Lots of roast, ash, old wood, earthy, dead leaves, peat, smoke. Medium sweet, over medium bitter. Medium bodied with dry finish. Not my thing.

Keg at GBBF’17, day three, 10/08/17. Golden orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is tangerine, citric pith, light pine, toasted bread. Taste comprises grains, lemon drizzle, light grapefruit, pine, breads, orange pith. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough hop jizz.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Incredibly murky opaque -looks like radioactive Fukushima water from a ditch- yellowish color. Aroma is pineapple juice. Flavor? Pineapple juice, super ripe tropical fruits, lightly to decently bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Lovely beer, but incredibly ugly.
