Description
LOC Brewery brews quirky, craft beers that are a voyage of discovery for the taste senses. It is our ambition to conquer the world with this. LOC Brewery wants to experiment with flavours, herbs, fruit and even let beers mature in wooden barrels.
LOC Brewery is an initiative of Roy Maas (he left in 2018), Erwin Schellekens, Daniel Tano and Paul Cools. The four know each other because their children were in the same class, so they met in the schoolyard. In December 2014, LOC Brewery started brewing small amounts of beer. Since then, brewing has accelerated to meet the demand from tastings and events. The first beer was launched in June 2015.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with kermis. Thick creamy tan head. Clear black pour. Very good for a brewery id never heard of before today. Carbonation is a bit high.

Bottle shared. Very hazy orange with a white head. Aroma of light tropical fruit, pine, candy fruit drops, a touch herbal and orange peel. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Light to medium bodied with a real juicy hop coating palate and soft carbonation. [15/08/2016]

On tap at GBBF 2016, Olympia, London. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a decent white head on top. Rich hoppy, malty, tropical fruit aroma. Tastes pretty much the same, hoppy, malty, tropical fruit, quite sweet and rich. Nice DIPA.

Yellow with fluffy, lasting head. It starts out soft and malty. Then there’s a pleasant build of of fresh, zesty hops.

Bottle shared at GBBF 2016. It pours clear deep gold with a small white head. The aroma is pretty fresh, green, grassy hops, onion and soft fruits. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, green hops, grass, straw, light spice and next to no sweetness. Finish is light and dry. Medium body and fine carbonation. Drinks pretty easy, but there really isn’t a whole lot going on.

0,33l bottle at home bought from ex-de molen beershop. BB 12/2017. quite over carbonatied beer. amber hazy color, quite big white head. smells sour, light green apples, spices, exotic fruits, berry notes, grapefruity, mango. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of light pines, citric, herbs, light yeasty, spices, light peppery notes. finishes light to medium bitter with notes of pines and peppery notes. decent stuff, a bit on the sour / rather yeasty side (i guess its the dutch / belgian influence after all), but overall good one. also a bit heavy though.

Clear pale golden colour, white head. Fruity aroma, raspberry, ice cream, hops. Bitter flavour, sweet lactose, fruity notes. Bitter finish, milkshake, raspberry. Bit over the top, but enjoyable nonetheless.

330 ml. bottle shared. Black, sold mocha. Nose is low roast, some mocha ice cream, touch of soy sauce, largely sweet with vague chocolate. Taste is low umami, complimentary largely sweet, mocha, sugar, chocolate, low pleasant roast, some candy, pretty balanced, easy rich. Easy with a good amount of sugar, low roast. Overall pretty easy to drink, solid beer. Another pleasant & good Loc beer, these guys should be getting more love & fame than they are currently.

Keg @ BBB. Pours hazy yellow/pale golden with a frothy white head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity and tiny nutty with crackers, lime juice, raspberries, pink grapefruit juice, moist grass, pine needles, minerals, lime zest, lemon zest and hints of coconut. Taste is slightly bitter, tiny sour, slightly fruity and tiny nutty. Mouthfeel is dry, very tiny tart, slightly astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter with lime, raspberries, grass and coconut shells. Has held up better than the base for some reason. Plenty of fruit and hints of coconuts. Refreshing me kinda cool beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of I Milk Your Drinkshake - Coconut Edition on 25 Jul 2016 at 20:00 - Score: 7. Original review text: Fresher than the base at this age. Fruity with light coconut. Kinda cool...

Keg @ BBB. Pours sparkling tiny hazy golden with a billowing white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some sparse sticky lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly fruity with crackers, caramel, grapefruit juice, raspberries, moist grass, pine needles, vanilla and lemon zest. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, slightly fruity and grassy. Mouthfeel is crisp, sparkling, astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter with crackers, grapefruit, raspberries, moist grass and hints of cardboard. Bit heavy on the bitterness. Should have had this fresh. Fruit character, both hoppy and added would have been more prominent then.
