Description
LOC Brewery brews quirky, craft beers that are a voyage of discovery for the taste senses. It is our ambition to conquer the world with this. LOC Brewery wants to experiment with flavours, herbs, fruit and even let beers mature in wooden barrels.

LOC Brewery is an initiative of Roy Maas (he left in 2018), Erwin Schellekens, Daniel Tano and Paul Cools. The four know each other because their children were in the same class, so they met in the schoolyard. In December 2014, LOC Brewery started brewing small amounts of beer. Since then, brewing has accelerated to meet the demand from tastings and events. The first beer was launched in June 2015.

Bottle. Orange golden pour. Aroma of grapefruit, toffee, yeast and pine. Sweet bitter taste of pine, toffee grapefruit, yeast, malt and a dry bitter finish. Weird beer, needs to be more clean and hoppy to be a good west coast dipa.

(330ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, May 3 2016) Pours very hazy dark gold with a small dense white head and lace. Aroma is fairly sweet with lime juice acidity, creamy lactose, biscuit malt, confectionery sugar, red berries (Swedish berry candy!). Taste is quite candy-like though not very sweet and reasonably bitter, lime zest, floury pastry malt notes, confectionery sugar, bitter berries, citrus pith. Finish is bone dry and clingy on the mouth, lime and strawberry candy in the aftertaste. Interesting and different but rather odd and not terribly drinkable, as this milkshake IPA style often is.

Bottle from Drank van de Meisjes, BB 11 2017, large sample. Dark brown color, big rocky head. Aroma of roasted malts, slight spicy, hint of lactose, earthy. Bit dry in taste, slight lactic sourness, roasty bitterness, bit harsh from lautering a bit too much. Dry in the finish, some dark chocolate and dark bread. Ok.

Amarillo, Mosaic and Citra hops. Very hazy amber beer, big pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, mildly dry and has good fine carbonation. Fluffy light malts, lovely light level of creamy sweetness. Good hop spice. Tangerine marmalade. Mild pine. Great tropical fruits, mango led but with papaya and pineapple emerging. Light semi dry finish. Spicy hop linger. Delightful lip smacking DIPA.

Ok hop profile in the aroma with a fine intensity. Hazy golden color with affine white head. Good lacing down the glass. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Medium body and a fine carbonation. Lots of lime here! Also citric, mild lactic and a pleasant fruity back. The flavor stays in your mouth for a long time..
Lovely refreshing ale.
