We are named after the silver carp, the very fat fish roaming the rivers and lakes of Europe. Its shape resembles the body of one our brewers after he quit rowing. With all the fat he gained the nickname Lobik came included. From the look of things the whole team will earn the nickname rather soon.
The goal of the brewery from the very beginning has remained the same. It means making the beers we like to drink. Admittedly it means they are a bit heavy on the alcohol and complex with its tastes. Consequentially it means we use the highest quality of ingredients. Anyway, enough about us. We just hope you like our beers and drink them with the joy we do!
Thuis. Blik.330ml
Gusher en extreem veel schuim bij het inschenken, maar daarna totaal flat. Geel, doorzichtig.
Lijkt wel een ipl. Niet best dit.

330ml. Blik. Thuis.
Geen schuim, waterig geel,
Typische ok-ish IPA-Lobik-geur. gras, hop, muf
Ronduit smerig. Dat je dit in een blik durft te proppen is tot daar aan toe, maar verkopen... Citrus, licht zuur, hop, waterig

Day 2 of the Mr Hop advent calendar, picked up online from the Mr Hop webshop, Vernray Netherlands. Consumed at home Tuesday 2nd December 2025 listening to Huw Stephens on 6Music. Pours gold, hazy, only a slim white head and it didn't last long. Loz said that this was very nice with an aromatic aroma, and yeah it does, it's nice. Crisp and clean, pleasant hoppy, light to middling bitterness. Good, my only real criticism is that the carbonation needs upping, otherwise it's a good beer. Score 6.8

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Citrus aroma with mild pine, grassy notes and biscuity malt. Bitter flavour with a somewhat dry conclusion. Medium body. Decent.
