About
It all started when we were fifteen and couldn’t buy beer after rowing trainings. We decided to make our own because why not? It took a long eight years of studying, brewing, experimenting and working our asses off. And than we finally reached the point where we were happy with our brew and decided to open a proper brewery. Thus the Lobik Brewery was born. It took another two years of heavy debts and unpaid working hours until our hard work paid off. We were recognised as one of the best breweries in the region.

We are named after the silver carp, the very fat fish roaming the rivers and lakes of Europe. Its shape resembles the body of one our brewers after he quit rowing. With all the fat he gained the nickname Lobik came included. From the look of things the whole team will earn the nickname rather soon.

The goal of the brewery from the very beginning has remained the same. It means making the beers we like to drink. Admittedly it means they are a bit heavy on the alcohol and complex with its tastes. Consequentially it means we use the highest quality of ingredients. Anyway, enough about us. We just hope you like our beers and drink them with the joy we do!

On tap at Mi(KK)ro Beer Fest. Pours very hazy and pale straw color, topped with a medium white creamy head. Soury nose, wine cellar with some barnyard funk. Gently soury taste, slightly lemony and orangey with leather and some more noticeable spices in teh finish. Lighter body and fresh feel. Refreshing stuff.

On tap at Mi(KK)ro Beer Fest. Poured slightly hazy amber color, topped with medium sized white head, fluffy. Fruity aroma with lots of flowers, roses and some elderflower. Quite intense nose with sweet character. Starts a bit sweet with moderate bitterness countering it. Medium body. Medium aftertaste. Great aroma with taste not trailing too in the back. Nice one.

On tap at Mi(KK)ro Beer Fest in Krško. Pours slightly hazy darker golden, topped with large frothy white head, pretty lasting. Intense grassy nose, not much else going on. Taste similar, grassy with moderate hoppy bitterness. Grassy aftertaste and very dry finish. More intense lager with more taste. Decent stuff.

Pours hazy, fiery orange, topped with medium white head, non-lasting. Gentler soury character in the nose. Some spices added and some leathery feel, also slight cheese. In the bacl some fruitiness that gets more noticeable with time. Pretty solid sourness, vinous-vinegary, along with slight spiciness. Relativelly filling body, finishes with some bitterness and lasting aftertaste. Pretty nice one. More on the soury side.

As Lobik chocolate stout, bottle at Sir Williams Pub, Ljubljana. Pours black, beige head. Light roastiness, chocolate, lactic, lots of cocoa, light to medium bodied. Sweetish. Quite empty for abv, expected more of...well everything.

On tap. Pours hazy golden color, topped with a smaller and non-lasting white head. Nice and quite strong soury nose, white wine and grapes. Taste starts with gentle soury touch, way more gentle than nose would suggest, although a bit puckery in the end. Finishing with strong herbal/spicy feelm way too intense. Not unpleasant, but too herbal.

Back To The Beer Jazzy Pale Ale from Lobik Brewery

Pours slightly hazy orange-amber, topped with a smaller white head. Pleasant hoppy notes with sweet fruits such as mango and pineapple. Medium hoppy bitterness with some citruses and malty back, a bit more gentle. Lasting aftertaste. Light, fresh, drinkable. Decent.

Pours fiery orange, hazy and almost without any head. Medium soury nose with white wine and grape notes, slightly cellar-like and with some wintery spices feel. Fresh and refreshing sourness, not too intense and a bit puckering in the finish. Light, summery body and well hidden alcohol. Great one.

Pours very hazy dark amber, topped with smaller, creamy, off-white head. Notes of caramel and a bit more noticeable sweet fruits (tropical). Rich malty back with sweet caramel, some peachy notes as well, and moderate, almost a bit held back bitterness. Warming finish that’s makes a bit of a burn. Very thick and fully body. Very nice.
