Already in 2012, we with the semi-dark Sigismund placed third in the spring brewer price. A year later - 2013 - we were the third best microbrewery of the year and a year later we were the best microbrewery ever in the Czech Republic. And we also won the spring prize of Czech breweries with our wheat beer.
Time went by and the capacity of the cellars slowly ceased to be sufficient. At the same time, we thought of a new brand that we named MadCat. And then we were impressed by the building of a dilapidated distillery from 1912 in Kamenice near Jihlava. We decided to save the building and restore the craft production. Reconstruction of the distillery began in 2017 and next summer we brewed the first batch of MadCat beer in a brewery with a capacity of 2,000 liters.
Our new MadCat lager won first place at the spring prize of Czech breweries 2018! And the ride continues - MadCat is already in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Italy.

Med-thin body, med-light caramelly malt. Med-light carbo, a bit lacking. Medium bitter, med-light zesty, light sweet. Pretty classic hops character, medium citrusy, tangerine, light grapefruit. Med-light resiny, piney too. Feels a bit tired.

Tap at the Artbar in Brno, after the MHM 2025, shared it with Gurthnar. Hazy golden body, off-white head. Lactic acid notes dominate, with low gooseberry undertones. Somewhat salty taste and fairly lactic, with gooseberry again showing up in the background to kinda save things. I would've literally pegged this for a gose how minerally it was, but eh. MC can do better.

Med-thin body, light carbo. Med sour cherry, light poppy seed, hint of vanilla. Pretty well constructed, good balance, works together. Med sweet, light sour and tart, feels a bit watery despite all that is present. Good but not great.

Rather thin bod, med-lite carbo. Med-lite sour, low sweet, low bitter. Dry feeling. Medium citrusy, lemony flavour. A bit boring overall. Not very beery either. Average-good.

On tap at PULT, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has light diacetyl, some piney hops, and grassiness. Flavour fortunately has more grassy and piney hops, with only minor traces of bitter, and a crisp biscuity, bitter finish. Still, clean this up a bit. It’s alright.

Can at Galerie piva. Hahah, definitely not golden in appearance, misty light brown, off-white head. But the aroma does hit some style markers, coriander's there, stone fruit esters too, on milk caramel though, ending jammy, vague oxidation maybe. Less vague oxidation in the taste, caramel, coriander, jammy-estery, bit chalky-minerally, but still drinkable. A fun mess, and hey, always appreciate trying a take on this styloid.
