In 2011 we opened our local microbrewery in a former music club in Jihlava. Where DJs were in charge, we now had beer tanks, fermenters, brewhouse and we started our own ride.
Already in 2012, we with the semi-dark Sigismund placed third in the spring brewer price. A year later - 2013 - we were the third best microbrewery of the year and a year later we were the best microbrewery ever in the Czech Republic. And we also won the spring prize of Czech breweries with our wheat beer.
Time went by and the capacity of the cellars slowly ceased to be sufficient. At the same time, we thought of a new brand that we named MadCat. And then we were impressed by the building of a dilapidated distillery from 1912 in Kamenice near Jihlava. We decided to save the building and restore the craft production. Reconstruction of the distillery began in 2017 and next summer we brewed the first batch of MadCat beer in a brewery with a capacity of 2,000 liters.
Our new MadCat lager won first place at the spring prize of Czech breweries 2018! And the ride continues - MadCat is already in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Italy.

Tap at Brustok's 10th anniv fest. Thx! Hazy yellow body, ivory head. Coconut and lime along with oatiness in the aroma. Juicy lime in the coconut taste, smooth, low bitterness, pretty nice overall!

Tap at Brustok's 10th anniv fest. Hazy golden body, off-whit ehead. Bit sulfury grape-driven aroma, not my favorite Citra profile, light maltiness. Chalky, minerally taste, grape notes, lightly astringent in the finish. Meh, 'kay - I mean, they deserved better for their birthday.

Tap at Brustok's 10th anniv fest, thx A! Muddy ochre body, off-white head. Wheaty, floral, lightly tart aroma. Okay taste, bit wheaty, sweetish, smooth, spicy, yeasty, herbal, bit flat and, to be frank, dull. Okay take, not more I'm afraid. Actually liked it in the first few sips, but the yeastiness took over if I remember correctly.

Tap at Pivstro. Clear full golden body, thick off-white head. Resin, berries and light citrus in the mild hop-dominated aroma. Lean, dry taste, clean maltiness, solid resin, good herbal presence, mild peachy and green mango undertone. Medium-light bitterness. Lightly astringent maybe, the herbal/green fruit note doesn't suit me, but actually, this a good one.

2022 vintage, huge thanks Artem for sharing. Very dark brown, blackish body, off-white head. Creamy aroma, buttery almost, raisins, low low caramel. Smooth lean dry taste, very dried out. Blueberries?! Whoa this went in a weird way. And not exactly a terrible one, but still...

Bottled at the Ø Beer for Ukraine event. Murky deep purple aroma, fleeting pink head. Huge, lovely blackcurrant profile, bit minty. Lean, dry, sour taste, berry, metallic, woof, the currant is hardcore here. Hard to drink for me...

Draught, 4.8% at Obývák. Slight bready aroma with a faint hint of caramel. Cloudy dark golden colour. Big stable creamy white head. The flavour is malty with a hint of spicy hops and a faint note of caramel. The bitterness is not very high, and the caramel notes actually end up dominating.

Can, thx Fil for sharing! Almost clear golden body, lasting small white head. Pineapple and light herbal notes along with some sweetish malty notes in the aroma. Smooth taste with some residual sweetness, low malty touches, pineapple and low herbal notes in the taste. Simple, okay.
