Our family has been making alcohol since the days of prohibition (shhhh, don’t tell Uncle Sam), we still have the stoneware crock that Michael’s great grandmother used to supply her “tea room” with beer.
In 1995 Michael began homebrewing beer and quickly became obsessed. He joined Brew Free or Die and the American Homebrewers Association and carefully developed his skills over many years of practice.
Since the start of Moonlight Meadery we have made over 10 beer collaborations with some of the world’s leading craft breweries, including Stone Brewing Company, Smog City, and Heretic Brewing. These collaborations all included honey in the brewing process, allowing us to create unique dynamic flavor profiles.
Hidden Moon Brewing is here to bring you delicious beers… but we won’t be making any old beer – we will be making the oldest kind: braggots (beers brewed with honey in additional to malt and hops).

Brewery draught, as pictured, 11/1/25.
A bit twangy and tart with evident lactic acid being a touch unrefined. Get a bit of blueberry and light salinity. Straw, cracker and baguette lingering.
Salty and tart with a bit of dough and fresh yeast. Lighter lactic acid but still lightly tart. Doughy, bready, lightly sweet at points. Nice to see this rare style, but could be a little less given to the rather unrefined lactic acid.

Exciting find. Dark honey gold colored. Nose is perfume and honey. Tastes very much the same. Thick florals and perfume. Honey is there through and through. Some astringent tones. Interesting.

Can (6/8/20) pour from share with Johnnieee--thanks, John! Appearance is opaque honey gold with nice sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width white foamy head with fair retention and light leggy lacing. Aroma is perfumey, floral, honey. Taste is pine and perfumey/floral/fruit, late bitterness and grain. As it warms, I'm finally getting some lemon and mild herb. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thin texture, soft carbonation and mix of sweet honey and mild bitter finish. Overall, thought the Braggot would have something really distinctive about it but I feel like I've had this before. I'm not a huge fan of the perfumey/floral thing so this isn't my jam.

16 oz. can shared by by tfontana, thanks for the chance Tom. Aroma and flavor are overly sweet. Homey, bread malt, soft floral and..... soft earth. Nothing wrong with it but this doesn’t convince me to buy more.

Can from The Packie. Brilliantly clear deep golden color with a huge frothy beige head that slowly recedes. Earthy grassy pine with hint of citrus and pitted fruit. Bready maltiness with hints of cracker and a light to moderate honey like sweetness. Light kiss of warming alcohol. firm bitterness especially as it warms. Very nicely made IPA, I'm not sure I'd call it a braggot, but I really enjoyed drinking it.
