Tap at CBFZ 2016. Aroma of ginger and other herbs, like a dough for Christmas cookies. Medium body, still ginger including the late spiciness. Soft carbonation. Short finish, yet not dry. Bready. Nice.

Tap at CBFZ 2016. A rather typical IPA from the weak-but-bitter sort. Body is medium, but aroma is rather soft and flavour is bitter. Lively carbonation. The body flavours smoothly lead to a medium long finish, but it does not fit so well. Okay.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Dirty candy again over a tart and unexpected sourness. Refreshing, light and crisp. Made for summer, but uh, please rather don’t.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Light fruit aromas going into crisp and almost acidic flavours. Light body and crisp carbonation. Simple and nice.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Nice grassy hops over a pleasantly sweet body. Crisp and light. Nice.

330ml bottle at the International Beer Bar. Pours light brown and aroma is all espresso. Taste is all coffee and vinegar. They come at the same time and it’s a little confusing. Apparently one of 28 bottles (it’s essentially just a coffee version of the Cobb Called the Kettle Sour) and to be honest, it had the hallmarks of an experimental small brew. Interesting and quite drinkable, but I don’t think it’s worth a bigger run.

330ml bottle. Aroma gives little hint of the huge flavour in this beer. A little belgian yeast for the nose, but lots of excitement for the mouth. That bready yeast gives way very quickly to big hits of tropical mango, pineapple and flowers. A nice bitter finish makes the IPA point but little says double about it. Slips down very easily for 8%. Biggest complaint was that it was all gone in no time.

9/9/8/10/9/10

Bottle from Beers’n’More, Zurich, Switzerland. Consumed at home Saturday 2nd July 2016 whilst cooking large Conchiglioni Rigata pasta stuffed with small north sea brown shrimps, cream cheese and shallots. Pours a dark amber and much like most beer that I have these days it’s a murky number. It’s got a nice soft mouthfeel, the sweetness has a bitter edge with some citrus but there is quite a big caramel flurry here. It’s quite good but no big hitter. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
