Description
Dr. Brauwolf was founded in Zurich Switzerland, August 2017, by pharmacist and virologist Dr. Stefan Wolf. Dr. Brauwolf is the first craft brewery to open in the city of Zurich and all the beers are handcrafted, brewed fresh without any additives or preservatives, and are unpasteurised according to the slogan “Fresh Local Craft Beer.” The range of products consists of five core beers plus a unique monthly special – the Craft Beer of the Month (CBM) for the craft beer lovers that like a more adventurous taste. The team works according to tight scientific guidelines, which ensures a high quality craft beer. We are innovating what’s possible with beer and we are always creating a fresh, unique taste for beer lovers. Every Thursday and Friday the brewery opens its doors to the public between 5pm and 8 pm, where customers can enjoy drinks in Dr. Brauwolf’s cosy taproom and also meet with some of the brewers. There are tastings and brewery tours available, where one can experience how, where, and by whom these craft beers are made.

To be honest, it is not my favourite of Gab's, of course it is a personal view. This beer is a bit rough at the palate, a bit sour and tart, dry and mineral, not enough aromatic and floral with the hop and the different ingredients, corny, 19.01.2021, purchased in one grocery shop in Lutry, in the old village.

0.33l bottle many thanks to Lore. Jet black body with a thin brown head. Lots of chocolate in the aroma with notes of coffee, roasted malts, caramel, subtle smoke and some floral hops. Taste of chocolate, caramel, smoke, bourbon, coffee and floral hops. Sweet beer with a smooth silky texture. A great RIS for sure.

Sample at Solothurner Biertage, may 2019. Slightly unclear pale golden with a frothy white head. Aroma is mostly weed with a hint of fruit and malt in the background. Flavor is kinda oily with weed and slightly piny. It kind of working well but depending if weed is your flavor, at least it lives up to its name. A novelty beer, not bad but not a favorite either.

pitch black colour, half inch of creamy beige head; aroma of dark chocolate, some roasted nutty, coffee and slight anise notes; taste of (dark) chocolate mousse, some dairy cream, cappuccino and spicy alcoholic notes; not an over-complicated imperial stout - and still ,extremely good!
