Bottle from their onlin club thingie. Pint glass @home. Big bottle bomb at the sink despite a month in the fridge. Hazy beaujolais, pale cranberry head. Veggie, then savory, slightly funk, super vinous, tart grape nose. Same grapes as their Tazza I'm guessing. Vinous, hyper astringent, cranberry grape, sorta ugly veggie, buttery, a subtle whiskey middle gives it some life. High acid, bold carbonation, medium tart, plastic, very waxy finish. Not sure. They make world class ciders & this co-ferment experiment is sort of shit so far.

Bottle from the Metal House Cider Club. Big Boy snifter @home. Haven't had a delivery from these folk in forever sort of anxiety. Pale straw, clear, white washed soda head, quickly still; it billows. Fruity, sharp, veggi-bitter, minerally, creamy fruit nose. Hyper mousse, apple skins & apricots, lime, bittersharp, tart grapeskins(somehow mellow), white grape & earthy apricot pith finish. Perfect acid. Ash out of nowhere. Not quite dry. It's such a run-on sentence to maneuver into taste. It's a adjective or two off world class & that may be my fault. I quickly forget what they're capable of. Fucking good.

Bottle from their cider club. Clear corked 750, mojito glass @home. Ruby, still, clear pour. Watery, dry grape skins & very herbal. Flat, low acid, low tart, earthy, super vegetal & vinous, zero structure, watery spent apple skins. Drinks like a thin $7 Rioja. Disappointing $25 bottle of cider from a legitimate cider & wine maker.

Clear 750 bottle from their infrequent cider club. Baby Duvel tulip @home as I await my wife with leftovers that I will claim as my supper. Pale, spirited, dusty, pale gold pour with a fat soda head. So I'm really hungry, but holding out. This smells lemon-apple fruity, with a big minerally-cheesy barnyard/sock funk on the back-end. Bittersweet leaning bitter. Lemon, earth, unripe stone fruit, aerosol, standout veg, a little glue, funky barnyard mineral finish. Super crispy & voluminous bubbles, stiff abv, obviously dry despite the pears, hard water. Tight finish that makes me so hungry. Fucking good.

500ml clear bottle from their online club. Slim, ice cider-like bottle, pretty wood-topped stopper with no paper/plastic or cage to keep it safe from curious hands. Three month sleep in the door of the beer fridge. Baby Duvel glass @home. Clear, intentionally still, pale gold. Nose is all acidic & yeasty apples, softened. Earth & white pepper, booze as it warms, but mostly just acidic & slightly citrusy apples. Taste is cooked sharp apples, acidic throat, plus some melted down whiskey smoothness that's just faintly sweet. Earthy yeast, lingering stem bitterness. It falls flat & slightly peppery on the tail, but that acid in my throat never goes away. It has some body, but wants to be a sipper. Sleepy smooth heat, but that big acid comes & goes. Not sure what this wants to be. Okay.

Tulip @home. Bottle club. Faded straw, a bit cloudy, active pour. Big yeast cake at the bottom of the clear 750. White wine, heavy acid, aerosol, gum, yeasties, pasta water, peppery skin. Crispy, iron-y, lemon, bitter green melon, earthy yeast, a little veg, very safe barnyard, lingering leafy bitterness. Too straight forward. Medium carb, thin, too acidic for me. Okay to good. First bottle I've ever had from Metal House that wasn't amazing.

750ml from their April bottle club. Duvel glass @home. Cloudy, pale gold. Big but lightweight & faltering whitewash head. Smell is fresh hay, sweet cooked apples, lemon, white grape, warming booze. It's strong but not obvious what kind of barrel(at least to me it isn't). Taste is a quick hit of sharp apples, dry grass & bitter aspirin. Booze & yeasties in between. Salt water. Lemon & bitter white grapefruit pith finish. Most all the apples are dessert or utility apples, so the barrels are something of a necessity. Sort of get a better feel for it by glugging a mouthful after every fresh pour. There's some roundness to the texture that's missed on a quick sip. Not super feeling this one. Very boozy for only(supposedly) 8.5%. Great carbonation as always, bottle conditioned. Yeasties soften the blow, but the aspirin is obvious. Only okay. The expectations are pretty high with this brand.
