Bottle. Clear golden-red chestnut, off-white foam. Fresh and perfumed hoppy nose with roast aromatics in the background. Chewy, full-bodied roasted and bready malt base, agressively but fittingly hopped - grassy, aromatic, flowery, great balance. Sparkly on the palate - moreish. Best brown ale in quite a while!

Pours a perfectly clear yellow-golden color, topped with a medium sized and fairly quickly settling white head. Mild grainy aroma, some grassy notes with fruity notes (melon?) present. Taste starts slightly sweet, a bit fruity, with very mild bitterness in the finish and short lived aftertaste. Light, drinkable, refreshing and a lager of high quality.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy brown body with a thick off-white head. Thick lacing marks. Aroma of caramel, toffee apple, grapefruit and earth. Flavour of marmalade, brown sugar and watery grain. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Fizzy. Quite hoppy for a Brown Ale.

Bottle from Rudat, 1,79€. Smooth malty beginning. Hints of grain, dry body. The beer is not very deep, hints of roast and chocolate there, moderate dry bitterness in the end with roasted malts. Not too intense. I miss a bit of a profile here.

(bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Moderately roasted malty and slightly earthy aroma with notes of caramel, bread crusts and a whiff of dark chocolate, accompanied by a tinge of herbal hoppy spice. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Dry, moderately roasted malt character with hints of liquorice, caramel and a mildly herbal backbone; dry and roasty and mildly hop bitter finish. Solid. 01.XI.15

Bottle. Dark chestnut, low offwhite head. Roast aroma, some licorice. Medium full body. Bit heavy on the roast malts, salty licorice, nice aromatic hops in the background, flowery retronsasal. Pleasant enough.

Bottled 500ml. -from Biervana Munich. Deep amber/pale brown coloured, small cappucchino head, mild caramel and herbs in the nose. Pretty dry caramel herbalish meaty taste with mild roasty finish. After Das Helle expected equal or even better beer but this one isn’t even close to it.
