(Keg at CoolHead Taproom, 20260813) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had toasted malts, grass and liquorice. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, liquorice, grass, light sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, light sweetness, ash and bitterness. A good burnt brew with sweet notes.

Bottle at CBJ Tasting. Dark and inky. No head. Aroma has coffee and soy sauce. Flavourwise it has espresso and mocha with a boozy edge and underlying figs and molasses. Thick. Oily. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Noice.

Bottle share at CBJ. Thanks to Wingman. Near opaque dark brown beer, a few dark tan bubbles. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, a mild dryness, reasonable fine carbonation. Fairly rich chocolate, a good mix of dark and milk. Mild marshmallow sweetness. Fair amount of spice on the smooth back end. Could be more sumptuous but liking the taste.
