Description
The Knoblach inn has been in Schammelsdorf since 1880 and it has been brewing there for about this long. Today Michael Knoblach is the resident master brewer. The Knoblachs are deeply rooted in their homeland and maintain good contact with regional suppliers and farmers. They attach great importance to preserving and actively promoting the diversity of the Bamberg region. For this purpose, the raw materials are, as far as possible, bought exclusively from the region. This not only has the advantage of boosting the domestic economy, but is also reflected in the quality. The ingredients couldn't be fresher.

bottle with a huge Thank you to Bochum! Clear, deep amber-golden yellow. medium-size head. Malty nose. Full-bodied, malty with hints of roasted malts and caramel, a touch of fruit and extremely lovely hopy flavours. Bitter-sweet character, pleasant carbonation, lingering hoppy-bitter finish, very aromatic. The alcohol is well-disguised. A superb brew! Thank you MoritzF!

Milder Antrunk, etwas würzig, getreidig, SEHR weich. (draught at the brewery tap) Clear, deep golden to amber colour with a mid-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet, citrus fruity and cara-malty aroma with fruity, slightly peppery and herbal hops. Moderately bitter and sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a pleasant and well-matured mouthfeel. Solid cara-malty, lemon-fruity and slightly bready taste with light herbal accents; bitter, slightly sweet and quite dry finish with well-rounded malty and fruity, slightly spicy hoppy notes. Very quaffable pale Bock Not to be confused with the Heller Bock/Maibock, which is a tad sweeter (10.02.08).

(bottle) Hazy amber colour with a small creamy off-white layer. Sweet malty aroma with apricots and yeasts. Sweet worty malty taste with apricots and yeasts. Medium bodied, low carbonated, smooth mouthfeel. Lasting fruity and malty finish, minimal bitter with a touch of caramel. Absolutely charismatic brew, a bit strange but also full of character.

Bottled, alc. 5.1%, as Lagerbier Ungespundet
Pale copper brown, small creamy off-white head. A bit metallic and sweet wheat bread aroma. Strange semi-grassy-flowery flavor - woody, earthy in the quite light palate. Some late woody bitterness. Unbalanced, but not totally bad, at least some character and is still drinkable.
